Road Trippin' with Ed and Hank (18)

Not just your basic, average, everyday,
ordinary, run-of-the-mill, ho-hum Ed and Hank...
(Okay... Yes it is.)

Note: Some of you may know how it is when you get a little older... you just start doing the same stuff over and over again and you end up being pretty easily amused... And so it goes with Ed and Hank. But ( Read more... )

P.S. The title is stolen... I mean borrowed from the Princess Bride too.

If you'd like to know more specifically where anything is, just ask. Hank will gladly tell you (if he remembers).

Aw Hankthedinosaur 'n Edthedonasaur are a really cute addition to the family. Hank 'n Ed need to teach them some etiquette tho' so they don't spook guests. Still sounds as tho' they were broadminded enough to cope.

I sure hope the 'as you wish' game don't go on too long. I can see all kinds of trouble brewing if'n that game got out of hand...

Hank figures anyone who feels at home enough to open their freezer is most likely broadminded enough to cope with whatever they might find. Meanwhile, Ed is trying to teach Hankthedinosaur and Edthedinosaur some of that ettiquette. (Btw,Hankthedinosaur has been found safe and mostly sound.)

Don't worry... The 'as you wish' game has been pretty much abandoned, neither of them could keep it going for too long (At least they couldn't when they weren't on the wishin' end of it...)

Heeee! I love that they were in my part of the country! I see the Archway all the time when I go to see the local puppy team play hockey... :) If gas wasn't so high, I'd ask where exactly those whips were being sold, 'cause I could sure use a couple as gifts at that price. [vbeg] And I hope that Hankthedinosaur turns up ok after Edthedog kidnapped him.

Thank you so much for updating and sharing this.

Ed and Hank do love the wide open spaces of the plains states. And Hank still wonders if he missed something by passing up the Archway 'cause of the price of admission... Have you ever been?

I'll still tell you where the whips are just in case you happen to be going by for another reason... They were at Fort Cody, just off the interstate at the North Platte exit (exit 177 I think) You can't miss it. And you'll be relieved to know that Hankthedinosaur turned up only a little worse for wear. :)

The Archway isn't bad but it's a *lot* more fun when they are doing something else out there--about a month ago they had "Cruise Night" where everyone displayed their 'classic' cars--lots of 50's and 60's models... mmmmmm. [You might want to check their website and see what's coming up but they pretty much hibernate in the fall and winter] The high point is when everyone drives their show cars along the main drag in Kearney at night -- ah yes, nostalgia (or watches it, which is more fun, imho). Btw, the boys might like to stop at the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora; there are lots of hands-on science exhibits designed for kids (including very *big* kids, heh heh). Mr. Edgerton is the man who designed the strobe light, so you might want to be careful if you have problems with being flashy-thinged.) Pioneer Village in Minden is fun too, that's partly where some of the scenes from "About Schmidt" were filmed. Oh yeah, lots going on Nebraska if you know where to look... and one last plug: Kool-Aid Days in Hastings are in August, and ( ... )

Thanks for the tips! Ed and Hank will definitely consider them the next time they're heading through Nebraska (except for that strobe stuff... gives Hank an instant migraine and then he tends to fall over.) Hank did want to stop at that Pioneer Village, but it was getting late and at the time he was more interested in getting Ed in a tent. Hank wouldn't mind checking out Kool-Aid days too. (Ed just rolled his eyes, but we'll ignore him.)

P.S. What exactly would the point of growing up be? :D
