Enmity

Enmity, a feeling of hate for your enemy, its normally felt in the heat of a battle when all hate is neatly sewn together with the luster of pain making its presence unbearable.

As the lights fade an autobot unknown to all the living shivered slightly in the abandoned trench in which he lay. A flute plays in his mind, just as his dead mate played, the soothing sad melody slowly goes over each note with such delicacy as the silent stream flowing in the midnight darkness.

Enmity, he felt that hate as his enemy mercilessly impaled him with his own sword, the jagged blade pierced his chest sinking deep near his spark. If only it was his chest that the blade cut, his beloved saved him taking the wound as her own. Frightened as death clutched her but happy knowing she gave her love just a few more minutes of life.

A whimper followed by a gasp, she collapsed with no life left in her crumpled, bleeding body. In the dark, he couldn’t see her face, her presence he could not feel. All there was, was a lonely void and the sound of the music playing gently, sometimes going down to a whisper in its saddened tone. Never ending....yet had a melody..nothing could match.

Precious is love and as beautiful as the northern lights. His mate was a angel. She was blessed with love and understanding.

The flute quickened, softly rising, the song, even though no words, were sung. Unraveled emotions sending into the sky, swirling upwards… all for one moment before declining as if falling into an empty pit.

Cold, the lack of warmth surrounded him. It seemed to enjoy tormenting him, swallowing him like the darkness. It wasn’t the chill that bugged him the most though; it was the surging pain. Struggling to keep the uncontrollable rush of it seemed near impossible.

He felt energon trickle out of his body, he gave up hope long ago, he let go when she fell, he quit when the missiles hit his back sending him into the scrap-filled trench.

Maelstrom, a violent confusion of feelings, he felt them all as she sundered to the ground. For the moment it took it seemed too slow to be natural. In that time he was angry at her assailant, frightened at never seeing her or hearing her soothing voice, happy at the thought of it all being a terrible dream and finally hopelessness and lost as her body fell and her optics shut.

He wished dearly to avenge her in an attempt to take away the pain, but that day would never come, his body to far gone.

Enmity, his enemy laughed as she tumbled and took the pleasure at watching his victims over whelming fear and hatred.

“Together....we....die” he managed to choke out as her face came into his mind. Her smile as bright, like the sun and her blue optics shining vividly.
Silently the flutes came to a stop his spark was set free from his chest cavity and carried the strained whisper with it…. “Together we die”
