emily is finally 17 today!!!! (and by today, i now mean yesterday)
i always knew that the teachers really live and sleep in the school, and tonight i got to personally witness this.
so i need to change my lj name because, well, even disregarding the fact that it's incredibly emo, it's not very representative of me by any means...and no one understands my explanation for picking it. so if you have suggestions for a new one, share them.
it's really hard to label yourself.
i haven't really had a good update in a while, and this probably isn't going to be one either.
but, in the past however long its been, i've done a lot of fun things with a lot of fun people. i pretty much have a fun life. i've only been home one night this summer which was for bookcards. but i don't even know what i've been doing.
and last week was youth serve, which was a lot more frustrating than fun. but i did play kickball with little kids, so i can't say i regret going seeing as that's one of my favorite things. and i still plan to one day play it with tribal kids in africa which will be a highlight of my life. i also got closer to a lot of friends at camp, so that's always good. i never would've thought that i'd have some of the friends i have now.
but most importantly, i'm ready for my mom to come home so i can eat something besides salad and cereal. and she and i are also on a lot better terms now.
yep, overall, things are just lovely.
