So today, I added the rice paper. It was too thick, so I tore it apart to thin it. It contained rose petals and dried leaves and I decided to leave those in because they were beautiful colors that went well with my image and also because they added to the aged look that I wanted for this piece. Here goes....

I might add that this picture isn't as representative as I'd like it to be. I took a number of shots, but the paper is so translucent that it is difficult to capture. It has plenty of texture now, though.

She is looking wonderful! The leaves and petals do convey the aged look... it's almost like she is a part of a dream.
Is there any paper on the upper left corner? (Other than the stamps, I mean.) Not asking for any reason, just curious.

No, I put some there at first, but it obscured the stamps too much. It goes all the way along the bottom, about mid-way up and then follows her profile and reaches into the right corner. It looks pretty balanced when you see it in person. Do you think I should go ahead and add some to the upper left corner?

I just sat here and stared at her for a little. (do you mind that I keep calling your piece her? She just seems to have a personality...) In this photo, I found that my eye kept being drawn to the upper left. It seems so much more 'crisp' than in the opposite corner. (I didn't think I had a reason for asking... perhaps it was a subconscious thing... weird...)

I think I might add some plain wrapping tissue or something, just to soften it. It's so hard to say for sure what I would do based on just a photo. And we do have more steps coming...

Let me know what you decide... I won't be offended if you decide against...

I am loving learning from what everyone is doing here.

oooh- i like the rose petals and leaves. Those are going to look so cool. I love that one petal at the top right corner too! And the colors of the leaves and the petal go complement that mossy green and red tones from you transfer.
