I am a recovering perfectionist and have learned over the years to let certain things go. I am wayyyyy less hard on myself than I used to be (and sometimes I still am). I have put a lot of energy into focusing on staying in the present moment instead of obsessing on other things and this helps a lot. It comes naturally to me now. This helps keep the balance in check in a way I can't explain really. I also say 'no' to a lot of things. No scrapbooking night, no Pampered Chef party, etc. I need to use my time the way I need to use it for me and my family.
Lastly I say to myself....if something isn't working I can always change it! Very few decisions are so grave that they are written in stone ya know?
