I'm turning into an introvert. I don't think it's a bad thing, not always. This is not to say that I am unhappy or discontent; I think I have everything I need right now: I make just enough money to get by, I've made many great friends, and I have a sweet ass bictchin turbo X1,000 girly.
and for some reason I miss modesto. i'll just have to visit soon.
Plus I have this amazing website to read everyday:
stereogum And of course these albums:
VA Run The Road - British grime/garage/2-step; Hip Hop may have originated in Brooklyn, London just perfected it.
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree - twanged out melodies and a voice that does nothing to impress. flawless album.
Gang Gang Dance - God's Money - Best album of 2005, so far. Electro-melodic with just a hint of enon/blonde redhead.
M.I.A. - Arular - Sri Lankan/British emcee-queen extraordinaire. Spastic beats and vocal hooks that be catchin dem niggles for days.
Orchid - Totality - Oh man. My favorite band of yore. It almost makes me like hardcore again. Listen to it just for Jayson Greene's amazing ability to pen the fuck out of some existential (Sartre would hate that) verses.
Prefuse 73 - Surrounded By Silence - All I have to say is that he remixes Tyondai Braxton. What DJ Shadow is supposed to sound like (unfare, I know).
I'm sure there is more-- just don't feel like it.
