Wow, the internet goes off for a day and suddenly I don't know what do to with my time. I mean, what did I used to do before, you know, I had an online life? Cause I can't remember. Everything I do nowadays somehow involves doing stuff online, or doing stuff offline I would then post it online. Luckily I had my muse on my side and wrote a little after the self imposed hiatus during exams, so it was still good.
Moving on. Yesterday a couple of friends and me went to watch Letters from Iwo Jima, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was in original version with subs, it made realise how much I miss Japanese classes (and that I am way out of practise ^^).
I won't give anything away in case you want to watch it, though it's not as if we didn't know how it all went being an historical movie; I'll just say it as much as it was harsh to watch, it was a beautifully done. And this comes from a person who usually dislikes "war" movies, because I like my endings happy, or at least hopeful.
And to prove that if you are obsessed enough you can see Supernatural signs everywhere there was this very brief scene where the Japanese captured a young American soldier who had been shot, and one of the Captains starts to interrogate him and guess what was his name? SAM!!
And he said the exact phrase "It's Sam", and I had a total flashback to Hunted when Sam said that to Gordon and I was BEAMIGN with BARELY CONTAINED GLEE the whole two minutes the scene lasted (and of course my friends were like WTF, girl? the Japanese just lost several of their friends and you're smiling? But I seriously couldn't stop it). And he was so young and had sort of puppy eyes and an innocent look and I just went awwww. Supernatural is everywhere!
Or maybe I'm just that obsessed.
In other news, I've joined the
Urban Legend Postcard Campaign over at
spn_postcards, which you should totally participate in if you have a little time on your hands, btw. Basically it's just to send a postcard with some text on an urban legend of your area to show our support.
I don't know if any of this will really help with making them decide on a third season of Supernatural *crosses fingers*, but I guess it can't hurt either. Plus, it is a lot of fun researching the local urban legends that are around here and choosing one for the card, though I might end up sending two because I'm a dork.
That's if I find out where one has to go to buy a postcard, I think I have never in my life done that.
