Forgive me if I seem pessimistic, but from where I come from, hallucinations are rather common.

What proof do we have?

There have been those of us who have been droned for random periods of time, who return from their droning with stories of having been where they belong for either a short, or very long period of time.

I know I was supposedly here for quite some time - but I have no memories of my visit.

I have not had it happen myself.

The system by which it works appears rather random. At times, one who is droned and returns has memories of both their time in Mayfield and times returned home.

Other times...the individual will have no previous memories of Mayfield. In all occurrences, by what I have heard, none ever have memories of Mayfield once returning home.

However...other times people may be droned for a time somewhat longer than normal without any memories of returning home.

We do not know what dictates the conditions by which these things happen.

Then it seems wise to remain skeptical in the event that these "memories" are another one of the town's tricks, does it not? There must be a reason, or a pattern somewhere.

Again, please forgive my pessimistic outlook, but, ah. In the event that we do find an escape, well...

It is possible...an event has occurred before where our memories were affected...

However we were never droned in the process...and they were memories of Mayfield itself...not of our home worlds.

I do not know if this place would have access to our memories of home...or know enough of our own worlds, to be able to implant such memories.

I'm not sure myself, nothing fits together as it should. It's just-- I-It's disgusting! That's what it is! This town is so cleanly run on the surface, but it's a horrendous display of mismatched methods and cogs and gears and what have you-- I, I just don't know what to make of it! What am I to make of it?!

Filth! That's precisely what this system is! Utter filth!

There is no reason to lose your head over such things...especially if they are beyond your control.

The only option is to continue to pay close attention and use logical investigation to find a solution.

Why should it be under your control? Is there a reason for this, or are you attempting to shoulder this yourself out of a sense of duty?

If you allow yourself to shoulder the world...it will crush you.
