[Kid's been feeling guilty for not being in the action during Westport, for not being able to aid those in need. Being the literal son of (the death) god weighs heavy on a young lad's head, and he really can't shake the feeling that he should be doing something more. This, of course, means Kid has decided to help everyone feel better in the only ( Read more... )

[Who is this kid and why is he putting everything in order ugh it's so ugly.]

What are you doing here, child?

[gasp oh no you dare speak out against the ~ultimate aesthetic~]

Why, improving your living space, of course! All things considered, goodness, more than anyone you need the help.

You can thank me later.

[ahahaha.

haha.

Viktoria wants to hurt you. Badly. But she's just going to smile pleasantly instead.]

Oh? Most housebreakers tend to remove things from a home, not rearrange them.

[She looks down at the kitchen table and sees the salt and pepper shakers have been meticulously placed in the exactly center. She reaches down and slides the salt shaker forward an inch. Still smiling.]

[OH GOODNESS WHAT ARE YOU DOING, Kid sweeps in right after Viktoria and quickly moves the salt back to where it was, then goes back to his main task at hand.]

Housebreaker? Really, you must be mistaken! I didn't break a single thing while entering, rather, I came in cleanly and efficiently without breaking a thing.

You are intruding in a private residence. Where I come from, there are many serious consequences for this sort of thing.

[She wonders just how long this child would last in a Hammerite prison as she moves the salt shaker again and waits for him to notice. Smiling.]

[Considering that he spent his time before Mayfield trapped in a book with a Lovecraftian elder god for several months, idk.

Still, he moves the salt shaker right back, twitching a bit this time.]

Well, perhaps if those in charge had their priorities in order, I wouldn't have to do this. As it stands, I promise that you will be feeling much better once I'm done! Symmetry has healing properties, didn't you know?

[Well, maybe he could handle the daily dipping in hot oil, but what about the dank, leaking, hastily-built cells, with their hand-forged bars of all different widths, the erratic cracks in the walls, the rust blotches and water stains?]

Symmetry is a human invention. A desperate need to find order things that do not have order and certainly do not need it, because the alternative frightens them too much to bear it.

[This time she sweeps the salt shaker off the table completely, and it shatters on the floor.]

Oh, how clumsy of me.

[Smile.]

aaa I missed this tag somehow, I'm sorry! mydedicatedfix May 10 2010, 21:14:39 UTC
[The thought is too much to bare.

Still, oh goodness. Kid immediately jumps onto the mess, obsessively scratching at the salt and glass, attempting to clean the mess. There was no time to explain symmetry, nor the godly implications - HUMANS barely were able to meet the basics of Kid's standards, after all.]

What have you done?! Look at this! [scratch, scratch] Disgusting! Terrible! Do you have any idea what comes from wallowing in such base activities?!

It's cool, LJ was derping out on me anyway plantenough May 11 2010, 03:35:25 UTC
[Oh, this is rich. Viktoria just watches, still smiling as politely as she can muster. She is enjoying watching him squeal.]

You're going to cut yourself.

[Suddenly, Kid's demeanor changes.]

There are worse things than salt in my wounds! There are more important things at stake here!

[Viktoria is not impressed.]

This is what you think is important?

The balance.

[Slowly gathering the last parts of the shaker, and yes, there is a little blood in there.]

Of everything.

Of course.

[Balance? Viktoria could say a thing or two about balance. Balance was why her people were dying out. Balance was what she had died for. Balance was why she had lost everything twice. She knew someone else who fought for balance- someone she trusted utterly- and they was most likely the only reason she wasn't going after this impudent boy with a knife right now.]

Such noble ambitions. A shame that you can't see the forest for the trees.

No such thing. Even the smallest thing can have catastrophic effects if allowed to bend too far to one side or the other.

[Oh, you're cute, but Viktoria knows a fanatic when she sees one (and she sees one every morning in the mirror). She'll just make sure to mess up everything after you've left. That should make her feel better.]

Then I wish you luck in your endeavor. You'll need it if you ever hope to be finished.

Well, I have thousands of years ahead to work on it, after all.

[Kid finishes picking up, and tosses the remains of the salt neatly away. He then returns, and carefully makes sure that the remaining better shaker is centered on the table.]
