[Kid's been feeling guilty for not being in the action during Westport, for not being able to aid those in need. Being the literal son of (the death) god weighs heavy on a young lad's head, and he really can't shake the feeling that he should be doing something more. This, of course, means Kid has decided to help everyone feel better in the only ( Read more... )

[[Massimo's sitting in his room when he notices Kid going by.]]

...Um... hello.

Why are you in my house?

Oh? Good afternoon! I didn't expect anyone to be home. Just a little good Samaritan work!

[Kid peers into the room, and oh dear sweet honorable father what have you done. He immediately dives into the room, and begins to re-arrange the furniture.]

...Yes, but why are you rearranging my furniture? I like it the way it is.

[[He's just going to sit on his bed and watch him with mild interest. He makes no move to stop him, since he's lazy, but it still surprises him.]]

Well! Then, I'm afraid you're getting it wrong. Nothing is more beautiful and therapeutic in the world that perfect balance, which is just what the town needs after such heavy trauma!

[Yeah, that bed? Kid is grabbin' a corner, and attempting to pull it towards the middle of the room. Slowly. Ineffectually.]

Really-- ahn, I! I really can't imagine how you've been sleeping like this! Disgusting!

[[Considering how Massimo's made of metal and the bed is probably pretty heavy on its own, there's little chance that he'll get it to budge.]]

It's comfortable in the corner. Plus, it's not like the sheets are dirty.

But look! What do you think you're doing, with your bed in a corner?! Perhaps if your room was in diamond shape in some sort of horrible, asymmetrical modern home, but in the simple designs of 1950s architecture, allowing such a thing to transpire makes the both of us no better than the lowest worm! The lowest worm, for committing the crime of ignoring the ultimate aesthetic! An abomination against every poor soul trapped in this blasted place!!

--Also, it will add walk space to the room.

...My bed's in the corner because I'm more comfortable when I sleep.

[[Climbing off the bed and pushing it back into the corner, and sitting there.]]

I--! You barbarian, fine! Let me explain this to you in terms that you'll understand!

We'll set it up against the wall, in the middle! All we'll need is a good hacksaw to remove the headboard.

I'm not a barbarian, I just value personal comfort over aesthetic value. Besides, it's not like you sleep with your eyes open.

[[Rolling his eyes.]]

If we remove the headboard, it'll make a big mess.

Then we dismantle it, and remove it in the garage! The outdoors provide easy clean-up!

But I don't want to.

I regret to inform you that there is a massive difference between wanting and necessity.

I highly, highly doubt it's a necessity to have a perfectly oriented room.

That isn't true!

Balance is of the utmost importance! Can you imagine an unbalanced world? A world thrown into chaos? It... well, we already have to deal with enough of that, as it is.

Mayfield's already cookie-cutter enough for it to work, I think. You don't need to make it so much aesthetically pleasing as you need it to be safe.

Oh, because being stuck in a lopsided, off-center corner is so safe.
