[Tonight, even in the night, something is noticeably off about the fountain. Specifically, the water seems darker, and there seems to be something laying face down in the water. Upon further inspection, you'll notice that that something is actually the pale, and lifeless body of a blond girl. There seems to be bullet holes all over her, as well as ( Read more... )

*Jr. had been wondering what had happened to Jenny when she wasn't around to cook like she usually did and had left to look for her. When he got to the fountain and smelled the blood, it took him a couple seconds to recognize Jenny, but when he did, his face flickered briefly to shock and then to rage.* Goddammit! Not again...

[He too, noticed something was amiss earlier when supper time came and went and Jenny was nowhere to be found. The Doctor left not long after Jr. to search for her as well. Later he finds his way to the fountain to see him standing over a body. A young woman's body. ...Jenny's body.

His eyes flicker darkly, hands clenched in tight fists as rage crashes over him like a tidal wave. The feelings of when he first saw Jenny get killed come rushing back as well as images from losing his family and friends in the Last Great Time War. He's still a moment, merely staring intently at her lifeless form. Once the shock has ebbed away a little, he rushes over and gets down on the ground to investigate.]

...Jenny? Jenny!

What's going on? What happened? [He's looking up at Jr. and wants so badly to say "What did you do?", but he already knows it's not his fault. Someone else did this. And whoever it was is going to be in for the oncoming storm.]

[Unable to sleep, Jack has been out roaming the streets tonight. He hasn't gone far when he hears the Doctor's shocked exclamation, which is enough to send him into a run toward the fountain. Seeing what was lying there, he freezes, glancing between the Doctor, Jr, and Jenny's still form.]

Jenny! What... [He looks up at Jr., moving to the Doctor's side in silent support. He hasn't had much chance to interact with Jenny's boyfriend, despite living in the same house, and this is definitely not the way he'd want to go about it.]

[[OOC: Housemate party in the thread, woo! Feel free to skip me if needed.]]

I don't know...goddammit. I don't even know what kind of bastard did this to her. *His hands were clenched tightly at his sides, wanting so desperately to kill whoever was responsible as memories of her last real death played in his mind. But this time he had no clue who was responsible, so he forced himself to control his rage and hold it until he knew who to kill.* But I'm gonna find out, even if I have to wait until I can ask her myself. And then they're gonna pay.

[And Cameron just never sleeps. In order to keep from making her roommates too suspicious of her constantly walking around, she's often outdoors (through her window) and wandering around Luceti.

This night though, it's pretty evident no one's minding the house because she sees them clustered by the fountain and has to come take a look. When she sees Jenny, her mouth tightens and her face goes completely blank.

She reaches down gently to test for a pulse, just to make sure. Then she notes the hair, and plays her fingers quietly along the hacked-off ends.]

I'm sorry.

[The Doctor whips out a stethoscope from his pocket and checks both sides of her ribcage for heartbeats. When he hears nothing, another look of panic washes over his features before shifting to fierce determination. He gets all the way down and lowers his ear to her chest, using acute Gallifreyan hearing for any signs of internal activity. Judging by her skin temperature which feels to be about the same as what's internal, he's able to discern that she's been down for short while. The blood still appears fresh, however.]

Alright, there's a chance that this isn't the end of it. It's happened before where she was gone and then got better. I don't know for how long she was out then, but I do know we're able to slip into a corpse-like comatose state when severely injured to devote energy to the healing process. I think it would be best if she's brought home and put somewhere where she can lie still. Give her a couple days, if nothing, well... [He really does not want to think about that.]We need to figure out who or what might have done ( ... )

[Jack stands by the Doctor's side, feeling helpless as the other takes charge in his usual way. He hasn't known Jenny very long, but he knows how much she means to the Doctor, and he considers her a friend too.]

If she doesn't regenerate... what then?

[He steps forward, close to the edge of the fountain, touching Jenny's cold shoulder sadly.]

I can help carry her home. Unless... [He looks to Jr., not wanting to step on anyone's toes.]

[[OOC: As I said, feel free to skip me in the order if I'm not around. I'm working a loooong day tomorrow and may only have time to throw out a few tags during breaks.

*He shook his head sadly.* I saw her do that once, when...nevermind. But if someone loses their wings, it's over. We're gonna have to wait for the Malnosso to bring her back and hope they don't take anything too important. As for what bastard did this...I have no damn clue. The only person that I knew had a grudge against her is long gone.

*At Jack's offer he forces his hands to open and takes his longcoat off, laying it on the ground and walking over to lift her out of the water, with surprising ease for someone his size.* But like hell I'm just gonna leave her here.

(I say the order that's sort of established itself.)

[Cameron almost offers to pick Jenny up for them, except she catches on Jack's cue and steps away, going instead for a secondary option--switching her visual scanners to nightvision and clicking off the safety on a Glock]

A lot of people in Luceti have guns. They might still be around. We should move her soon.

[she glances back down at Jenny's hair] They wanted to have fun, not just kill her.

[He listens to Jr. and Cameron, nodding slowly while it all registers. And now he goes on being his usual Doctor-ly self when it comes to handling situations.]

Jack, I'd like you to take her body back to the house. Lay her somewhere she can be completely flat and still. Let me know when you're done with that and we can plan a rendezvous. Cameron, if you can, go with him and keep an eye on her. You've been here a while so I'd reckon you'd know how to handle the Malnosso with this sort of situation.

Jr. [The Doctor turns to face him.] I'd like you to come with me. We're going to look around and figure out who did this, and if she's not the only one. If there's someone out on a murdering spree, they need to be stopped and fast. Do you have anything for self defense?

[Jack nods and moves to Jr.'s side. He understands why the Doctor is splitting them up this way... he needs someone who knows Luceti with him, and Jr. doesn't need to be alone with a dead girlfriend right now.]

[He picks Jenny's body up gently, keeping Jr.'s coat wrapped around her, then gives Jr. a nod.] I've got her.

Doctor, if there's someone on a murdering spree, you know I'll be the best one to be out here. I'll come back and meet you as soon as I can.

*He nods, shifting into soldier mode now that the possibility that others could be in danger had been brought to his attention. He didn't say a word as Jack took Jenny's body from him, even as the water and blood soaked into the bright red leather and made dark spots that would probably never go away.* Yeah, I've got these. *He pats the twin handguns at his hips.* And I can fight with my bare hands and magic if I have to. You don't have to worry about me.

[Cam doesn't argue and her expression is still grim.]

I've never seen someone come back in Luceti. I don't know how it works. But I'll keep a lookout. It's our house. And she's my friend.

[since Jack's got his hands occupied, she clicks the safety off another handgun for good measure] You will call if you need help, won't you?

im_brilliant March 29 2010, 02:38:57 UTC
Certainly. [He nods.] Keep on the lookout and take care of yourselves. [The Doctor looks at Cameron then shifts his gaze to Jack.] Both of you.

It would probably be best to start around the houses and go from there. [He says this more so to Jr.] See if anything else strange is going on. Perhaps someone else might be in a bit of a predicament as well. So long as we find some sort of clue.

If anything comes up- [Back to Jack and Cameron.] Send word out. I'll be back as quickly as possible.

Any questions or ideas before we split up?
