Having started figuring out the closets, she's got some of the basics all ready - snacks, movies and whatever the hell it is you use for manipedis. Hell if I know, but

[Gosh, it takes so long to get there. Kurt's missed Mercedes terribly though, especially after he wound up that that psychotic little doll version of her. It's a relief to be heading over to her room for movies and manipedis - it's almost like being home.

So, he heads over as quickly as he can and knocks on her door. IT NEEDS TO BE GOSSIP TIME NOW.]

Uh huh. If that's what you wanna call it, sure.

[Do not even think about getting comfortable out there for a second because WHAM SHE IS OPENING THAT DOOR! Only it's not that dramatic, but nonetheless. The door is open now.]

[You have no idea how excited she looks. Mostly because you can't see a person's face when they drag you into a hug like she's doing right now. But also because it's impossible to describe. You might be expecting her to say something like "I missed you" or "it's so good to see you,"but honestly? As far as she's concerned, she just saw Kurt earlier that day at Glee, so...]

SHUSH. I WAS DOING STUFF. DON'T JUDGE ME.

[And that's all he gets out before he's scooped up in a classic Mercedes hug. And while yes, he would appreciate it if she missed him, he knows from enough new arrivals that he hasn't really disappeared at home. But that's okay; he'll say that part for her.]

Oh, you have no idea how much I've missed you.

[Hug, hug, hug. He even wore something that won't wrinkle easily just for the occasion. ♥]

[It's weird for her that he's even had time to miss her, but instead of bringing that up because how awkward would that conversation be?, she lets him go and moves aside so that he can come in.]

Come in, come in. I've started getting the hang of the closets, so I have some snacks and movies and figured we could do manipedis while you catch me up on gossip.

[From the looks of her room, she's also done some really basic decorating, too. Just small things, like a lamp with a plastic shade decorated with multi-colored polka dots for her desk; a full length mirror; small touches like that.]

[That would be super-awkward, so he doesn't bring it up either. He just slides right on into the room as though he hasn't been away from her for months and months, and just admires her handiwork. As usual, Mercedes is the epitome of taste.

...Well, except for that lamp. Girl, someday you will wake up and that lamp will be missing, and Kurt will have had absolutely nothing to do with it. Really. You are so much better than polka dots.]

But of course. There's so much to catch you up on. Oh, I'm sure people have probably tried to fill you in, but it's only something a night of manicures and movies can really help with. There's really no other appropriate way to take it all in.

[Do NOT even start with the lamp, it is amazing, boy. She closes the door behind him.]

So, I've got a few movies, but I figured that we could start with this...

[And then she holds up Sex and the City and you know that they've watched it together a million and one times.]

[And now it's going to be a million and two. He beams in approval.]

Ooo, perfect! It's been too long since I've had a dose of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda.

[Don't mind him. He's already looting through her manicure supplies while she gets that ready. Yaaaay manicures. ♥]

[She just smiles and goes to pop the DVD in, leaving him to play with the manicure stuff, because let's face it, this shit needs the Kurt Hummel Seal of Approval before they do anything. Am I right? Of course.

So while she's queuing up the main menu and pressing play, she keeps talking.]

I know! Between Glee and Cheerios and school, we haven't hung out in forever.

[For her at least lol.]

[Kurt nods, but it's awkward, like he's thinking about something else. After all, he hasn't had Cheerios or school in...eight, soon to be nine months? It's weird to think that he hadn't been in school for...well, almost an entire school year.

Weird enough that he's not going to bring it up. Manicures! Wonderland gossip! Fun times!]

It really has been forever since we had a night in. But that just means we have more to talk about!

[He takes out an emery board and uses it to gesture from Mercedes to the bathroom.]

Now, go wash your hands quick, and I'll do your nails first.

Fine, fine.

[She goes in and washes her hands fairly quickly. A very nice balance of "okay, but actually wash them" and "don't take forever, we have to gossip." And then she come out and we are ready for manicures!]

[That's enough to satisfy Kurt. He's already made himself comfy on her bed, and he smiles and pats the spot on the blankets directly across from him - come, sit! Join him in comfort and let him do your nails.

Once she actually sits down, he takes her hand and starts expertly filing. He wastes no time in getting to the gossip though.]

So, first thing's first. Mercedes, what's the last thing you remember? Before you got here, I mean. [He doesn't look up from his work as he asks.] It's relevant, I promise.

[It'll make things easier to explain if he knows whether she's from the future or the past or what. He knows she's a Cheerio, so it couldn't be very far back, but who knows what's going to happen in the future?]

[Of course she'll sit down next to you, Kurt. What are bffs for? She considers his question for just a moment.]

Hmm...the Cheerios did a number at the pep assembly. Or we were supposed to, but I cut in with "Beautiful" by Christina Aguleria.

[She seems really proud of herself.]

And you were flawless as usual.

[File, file, file. He seems pretty pleased with her answer though.]

That's about when I'm from too. April Rhodes had just bought us the auditorium, so Coach Sylvester couldn't reserve it exclusively for us Cheerios anymore. [It never stops being awesome to be able to phrase it that way.] I went home that day and...wound up here, somehow.

My point though, is that everyone is from different points in time. And it seems that most of our friends are from points further along than us. So, I've managed to find out some very interesting things about the future from them all.

[You know, she should be weirded out by the apparent time travel, but after everything that's happened in the last couple of days, it's hard to be stuck on that when there's FUTURE GOSSIP]

Oooh. What kind of interesting things?

[He'll start small, with the first big thing he found out.]

Rachel used to be here. According to her...we're going to lose Regionals. This seems to be supported by everyone else who experienced it already, and if she was going to lie about it, she would probably have gone on about how me made it all the way to Nationals by letting her sing solo for a full hour non-stop, while the rest of us swayed in the background.

...But apparently, somehow the club avoids being dissolved, so we're going to wind up safe at the bottom of McKinley's social hierarchy for another year.

[They're pessimistic words, but he's smiling anyway because ultimately it's good news - they're going to lose, but the club won't be dissolved forever. Yay!]

[Oh, don't mind her snickering at Kurt's snide remarks about Rachel and her self-absorption.]

Well, as long as glee is still there...I think I can deal. What else?
