And on this fine, beautiful morning, after dawn, Medusa is outside with a sister, the dogs, and a number of blackened kitchen implements. Blackened from charcoal, which happens when you cook on open fires, but just because it is a regular occurrence doesn't mean that you leave them that way, oh no ( Read more... )

Sam had woken when Medusa left their bed, but he hasn't bothered to actually get up until now. He hasn't bothered with a shirt, but he'd dragged his fingers through his hair a few times before happily exploring his way back out again to find his girlfriend and her sister.

He leans comfortably against a nearby wall, smiling. "Morning."

Medusa does know that he is there - she can taste him, and she smell him, and see him in shades of heat. She's also had to drop the scrapper in favour of trying to protect herself from the dogs.

The dogs are, naturally, taking full advantage of her being on the ground and going lick, lick, lick, lick.

Casting an amused look at her sister, Euryale lifts her head.

"Morning, Lucifer," she says, cheerfully, wiping the back of her hand against her forehead (and leaving a streak of charcoal behind).

The remain dog eyes Sam, and walks over, wagging his tail hopefully.

"Sleep all right?"

Sam grins at Medusa's triplet. "Yes, thanks."

He can sense his fate looming over him, and chooses to gracefully accept it. The dog gets patted on the head.

The dog looks smug at this.

Voice muffled, Medusa says, "Good! You can help us!"

"I'm not very good at cleaning," he admits. "But I can try."

She cooked him dinner and is his girlfriend (:D!) and everything. Sam figures it's only fair.

"It's not that hard," Euryale points out. "You just grab one of these...scraper things, and chip away at it. Then scrub."

Sam grins. "Yes ma'am."

He's well-trained. Sometimes.

Medusa peers out from behind the dogs.

Sam.

Cleaning.

This she has to see.

Is it cleaning if it mostly consists of poking thoughtfully at the charcoal and then experimenting with magic to find the most efficient way to remove the blackening?

Because that's what Sam's doing. Answers on a postcard, please, anyone who's surprised by this.

"You're cheating!

He is cheating, isn't he, Meda?"

"He's cheating."

"I am not!" Sam protests. "I'm half-magic, that's like saying you two are cheating by using your wings to fly."

Of course, even if he were cheating, it's not like that would stop him.

"So, could you do all of it with just magic?"

Ahahahahahahahahaha no.

"It'd be far too tiring," he says promptly. "Even if I find the right way. Also, nice try."
