I would have sworn that the 1st counselor in our ward told me that our meeting was at 7 AM at his house on Sunday morning; a time I'm rather opposed to on principle, but I then, I'm opposed to anything before 10 AM on principle, so I'm always having to damp down that gut reaction of hatred. Anyway, so I get up at 5:55 Sunday morning (O.o) and drag myself over to his house, and even then I get there a little late because I got a little lost. I arrive at his door and knock. No one answers, so I knock again a little louder. Then, thinking that maybe they had already started the meeting and couldn't hear me knocking, I rang the doorbell. I heard someone coming down the stairs, and who should open the door but the first counselor, in his bathrobe, with his hair sticking every which way. I could have just about died right there on the porch. In fact, I'm not so sure I didn't.
Jeff and Dad are doing the parent/child Sex Ed talks...again. They're so irreverent. One of the questions was, "What's the problem with having an STD that doesn't present symptoms?" Jeff's answer? "You can still T the D when you have S." Who knew Sex Ed could be such a barrel of chuckles?
There is no sound quite like an egg falling off the counter. That *whooooooooom........squirsh* is just ridiculously funny. So naturally my brother should manage this trick right as I pick up the phone Thursday night. The conversation goes something like this:
"Hello? [small laugh]"
"Hi, this is Patrick. May I please speak with Ben or Jeff?"
"...........................[a very strained]I'm sorry..." [hands the phone to Mom because I was laughing too hard to speak]
We were kind of in a goofy mood to begin with, and the egg incident just drove me over the edge.
I have to head to bed, but I'll do more "what I did with my weekend" updates eventually. (read: hopefully tomorrow, but I'm not really sure since Ben's graduation ceremony is tomorrow evening)
