I want to be less personal.

I would like to be able to write without being too personal about it. Those of you who know of my musical adventures may know that I've formed a new band, The Van Pelt Family. I've been writing most lyrics and I do have a problem not writing about personal experiences. I find that rather irritating and extremely vague. I want to write about different things and have a strange literary style to my writing.

Can you help?
