Quite a few things have been happening since my last post. From the most recent to the least recent;
Due to centrelink classifying me as a dependant (even though, without question, I'm not) I had to get a job within a week or become homeless. Woohoo! Thanks government! Anyway, I'm now working at subway.
The bunny died of heat exhaustion.
Matt came home from hospital.
Matt broke his leg by jumping out of a tree whilst searching for firewood on new-years and went into hospital.
I went to Matt's house for christmas this year, and enjoyed it a great deal more than I have enjoyed any of my families get-togethers ever since I grew old enough to not be classed as an 'adorable child'.
NEIS lied to us, and so our business was crippled by a cut in funding when they took away our rent assistance ($120 between us a week, causing us to be so broke we couldn't afford to list our stock on eBay). We were told that after 6 months, the rent assistance would be cut and then we could re-apply if we still qualified for it. Truth is, we couldn't. We rang DEWR and they basically laughed at us, and then they literally told us to go back on the dole. No way to appeal. None at all. Wow, what an awesome government Australia has! One that makes out like it's helping people start businesses because that's great for the economy... when really it's bankrupting people and forcing them into debt. Then when they leave their business funding program they get classed as DEPENDANT on their parents and get paid $15 more than what their freaking rent costs, and last time I tried to apply for independance I had doctors letters and all that shit and they STILL wouldn't give me independance. Oh, and this time Centrelink told me 'if you don't like it, write to your local MP'. So I did! NO RESPONSE. Yes. A wonderful government we have indeed. Sets out to crush dreams, put people into debt, and force them out into the streets.
And that was my quick summary of large events in my life since whenever. Anyway, seeing as the bunny died I'm gonna start growing the garden again. I want to make a nice sustainable garden which will mean that Matt and I never have to buy vegetables again. I'm also aiming to make the garden a little more productive than we need so we can sell some of our produce in market stalls to supplement our currently far far far below average income (Thanks again, Government) and hopefully we can pay back the several thousand dollar debt we now have with Matt's dad for borrowing money to start up our business (Thanks Government).
If there's anyone out there who wants to buy some of the stock sitting around here, we have a few thousand comics, some particularly rare and sought after ones, some from ye olde days and some nice new stuff, a whole lot of runs in popular series, quite a bit of independant stuff too. We also have some anime DVDs and some horror movies but not too many, they're all official licensed releases, none of that bootleg crap. Bootlegging is destroying the entire entertainment industry.
HELLO YOU MORONIC BOOTLEGGERS! If people can't make money off making movies, music, games and cartoons, nobody is gonna make movies, music, games and cartoons. BUY things, don't steal or bootleg them. And for crying out loud don't buy bootlegs! If you love something, support it! Don't murder it in it's sleep. If those industries die (and they will) then you wont be getting any more of the things you love. EVER.
Anyways, yeah. Old stock for sale. And now I'm starving, so I'll see what I can scrounge out of the fridge for a meal. Oh, and if anyone wants to make a suggestion for organic fruits and vegetables so I know what kinds of things might be popular at a market stall... that would be nice. I'm gonna be growing potato, tomato, lettuce, onions, peas, strawberries, carrot, cucumber, pommegranites and assorted herbs like parsley either way, but additional input would be nice. And maybe some awesome recipies for preserving fruits and vegetables. I already know how to can tomatos, but the other things... not a clue.
