It's just the fact that in a year's time I may not be talking to some of my current friends
Why won't you be?

Like I said, about some of us drifting apart. It may progress over time to the point that we won't see or talk to each other any more.

I don't understand.

If some of us are drifting apart, unless it is something that we see as desirable to us, why don't we make an effort to overcome the separation?

I assume next year we'll still be together in the sixth form block and see each other at breaktimes.

I concede that perhaps we are different people today than we were six months ago, even a month ago, but that does not automatically mean we're incompatible as friends. I think we need to start appreciating each other for who we are, not what we have been.

I think getting reacquainted with each other is called for. Perhaps, after the exams and Teen Spirit, we can all go out together - for a meal or even just to hang around - and catch up.

People drift apart because people don't make the effort to counter it. If you think you're incompatible with some people now, that's fine but don't blame it on drifting.

Yeah, you say this all know, but who will actually begin to make the effort? I never said that we would definetly not be talking, I just said it's a possibility, like it's a possibility that tomorrow we may all come together and decide that we should start spending more time together and everything will be fine.

It's not like I'm condemming this all to a bad outcome, what I said in the post was just about what I fear might happen, and what I feel tonight. I don't want this to happen, and if this can be all 'sorted out' or whatever, then I'm all for it.

Who will begin to make the effort? I think we all need to make the effort.

I suspect perhaps we are making a mountain out of a molehill but, of course, I am prone to trivialising things.
