Peter was jogging a little bit later than usual that morning. He'd woken up late, decided to stay and have breakfast and coffee before he'd taken off. He had his earbuds in, music blasting into his ears and he hadn't stopped to think when he'd seen the little boy in the street chasing a ball. He'd reacted, running into the road and shoving the

Nathan had been royally tempted to fire his aide on the spot when she informed him of what had happened to Peter after the meeting he'd been called into an hour before. But he really hadn't wanted to waste the time. He'd talked his way out of having a driver take him to the hospital, not particularly concerned with the consequences, and flew straight to the hospital as fast as he could.
Peter would be fine. He was sure of it. It was a car accident, he'd survived being thrown out a window for God's sake. But somehow that didn't slow Nathan down, didn't cut away any of the panic, fear, and the surety that when he finally did get into the hospital, it was going to be a lot worse than he prayed it was ( ... )

Well, they had one Petrelli accounted for. She was hoping Claire would show up before Angela.
"I'm fine. The baby's fine," she answered Peter, taking his hand again. "I texted Claire, but if you didn't call her she probably doesn't know what I'm freaking out about. I didn't get a response yet, she might not be near her phone." She looked up at Nathan, not sure what to do about that.

"What she said,' Peter pointed to Sasha. "No one's gotta call Claire. M'okay now."
Feeling alright, yes. Actually alright, not so much.

"Call her again." He started reading over the chart, glancing over Peter's way once again. "You definitely look like you're feeling better." At least he was conscious. In a manner of speaking.

"He pushed a kid out of the way of a cab."

"He was chasing a ball," he explained to Nathan, as if it weren't obvious that the kid was doing something like that to be in the middle of the street. "I woke up late this morning. And I feel good now. A second ago it hurt. She gave me too much medicine."

Nathan got out his cellphone. "My turn, apparently." He hit Claire's number on speed dial, and this time, he left a message. "Claire, it's me. Peter's been in an accident. He's conscious, but he needs you as soon as you can get here. Call me if you need me to come get you."
He hung up, and shrugged to Sasha. "She'll be here when she gets the message."

Sasha took Peter's hand again, thinking about how all of this was going to look. "Maybe we should try to get his doctors to release him or something, before he's healed." They could say they were hiring a nurse. It'd look better than Miracle V 2.0.

He wasn't high on pain killers at ALL. Okay he was but he'd say the same thing sober too. He furrowed his brow at Sasha's suggestion. "You can sign me out," he pointed sort of at Sasha. "You have to sign stuff that says if I die, you don't sue."
Now he was pointing at Nathan. Oops, sorry. "You can steal pain medicine. Lots of it."

"If Claire's with Sam," That Winchester kid never stopped being irritated. Nathan thought maybe he wasn't capable of being anything else. "Then she's going to be a while." He despised saying that.
But it did mean the only course of action was to not bother waiting. "You're right, we should get him out of here." A quick read over for the second time of the chart, and he was sure it'd be alright. "Take care of the paperwork, they shouldn't give you any trouble. If you need me to push it through, just come get me."
A moment, and he realized something should be tacked on to the end of that. "... Please." Much better.

"And it's not nice to blame Sam for everything," she told Peter, letting go of his hand so she could go out and deal with the doctors and nurses who were going to tel her that she didn't have a clue what she was actually doing. She was getting used to this.
If they weren't going to build a Petrelli wing to house them, she thought they were all better healing in secret, at home. "I'll be right back."

He grumbled at Nathan. "I think blaming Sam for everything is awesome. Green house effect, blame Sam. You could make it official! Like a law or a decree...or something."
Right now Peter wasn't worried about being taken home, injuries or not. He was happy pretty much with anything as long as he had enough pain medication.

He redialed Claire's number again, and rolled his eyes when the voicemail hit once again. "It''s me. Sasha made a good point, we're taking Peter home. Meet us there when you can." He hung up again.
After a moment, he turned his attention back on his brother. "So. No more jogging with your iPod, hm?" The 'please' wasn't a must here. He was fairly sure of that.

At least he was pretty sure that was his story and he was sticking to it.
"I saved a kid though!" he insisted. "He would've been squishy."
Or squished. You know one of the two.
Reply
"... Squished, Pete. He would've been squished." He corrected. "And I know. That's great. I'm proud of you." He promised, and would've given his shoulder a squeeze if he wasn't afraid of hurting him.
"Just watch it from here on out, alright?"
Reply
"Got to keep Claire 'round. Sasha's gonna kill me once Claire brings me back. For gettin' hit."
