Hospitals Plus Petrellis=Normal [RP for Sasha, Nathan, Claire]

Peter was jogging a little bit later than usual that morning. He'd woken up late, decided to stay and have breakfast and coffee before he'd taken off. He had his earbuds in, music blasting into his ears and he hadn't stopped to think when he'd seen the little boy in the street chasing a ball. He'd reacted, running into the road and shoving the ( Read more... )

Sasha had gotten a call from the hospital after arriving in Gotham, minutes after she had dropped Henry off at daycare. She'd quickly talked to Lucius about it, knowing that Bruce wasn't in the building and would hear about it later. Then she'd explained to Henry's teachers and signed him out, letting Lucius get her a car. She didn't want to drive, and she couldn't rely on Nathan's ability. It would raise too much suspicion if this made the news.

She already knew that Claire was going to end up healing Peter. She had to, especially if it was bad. And with the miracle resurrection that Nathan had blamed on angels, this wouldn't have looked good. They were trying hard to cover up the Company, not make it public. So as much as she hated it, they were going to have to do things the old fashioned way - except for the healing.

When she got back to the city, she'd dropped Henry off with John, telling him that Uncle John had missed him and wanted to play. She knew he was confused, but he had been good in the car, and she'd faked enough interest in playing and coloring with him that she thought he was doing okay. She didn't want to mess that up.

By the time she'd talked to several doctors and been shown to Peter's room, she was trying really hard not to lose it. For some reason, things always had to happen with them. If it wasn't an ability, it was a random disaster like this one. She pulled a chair up to Peter's bed and took his hand, trying not to focus on how he looked. He was bruised and had a lot of cuts, and she'd already heard about his broken bones and internal injuries. The hospital had called her and Nathan, she assumed Nathan had called Claire. They needed to fix this, soon.

It took Peter a little while to wake up once he was aware Sasha was there. Or at least once he thought he was aware she was there. It took even more effort to open his eyes and wiggle his fingers in some semblance of squeezing her hand. 'Hey."

It was really more of a terribly hoarse whisper than anything but his eyes were mostly open (one was sort of swollen shut from his face hitting something) and he was conscious.

"Hey," Sasha straightened up, not making any move to get closer. If anything, she held his hand a little looser so that she wouldn't hurt him. She was relieved that he was awake, even he couldn't do more than whisper to her. It was a good sign.

"Is that little boy okay? I pushed him pretty hard," Peter managed to get out. "Could i get some water?" he asked. His throat was dry and a little bit of water might help the hoarse whispering.

Sasha nodded, reaching over to hit the button for a nurse. She wasn't leaving him to tell the doctors that he was awake. Someone could come in and see on their own. "I heard he's fine. There was a nurse, asking for information at the request of his dad, so...I gave it to them. I think they want to meet you sometime." Leave it to Peter to get his own ass kicked trying to help someone else.

She got up and picked up the pitcher on his tray, filling a plastic glass with water. Instead of handing it to him, she brought it up to his lips. "I thought you were out of the superhero business."

"Okay," Peter nodded then winced because the nodding hurt. He took a sip of the water, careful not to drink too much too fast. Once he was done he laid back with a whispered thanks. When he spoke again his voice sounded a little better.

"He was chasing a ball in the street. The cab would have killed him."

"The driver should have been looking where he was going," Sasha commented, more angry than anything else. Cab drivers were supposed to be aware of what was going on around them, this shouldn't have happened. She hated how everything was always out of her control.

"Can I get you anything else?" Where was that nurse?

Peter shook his head slightly. He wouldn't have said no to pain killers but that wasn't Sasha's job.

"What can I do for you, Honey--oh you're awake," the nurse said as she walked in, the smile on her face got brighter when she saw Peter awake. "I'm just going to take your vitals and let the doctor know. He'll want to come by and see you," she said as she took his chart then started poking and prodding at him. "Vitals look good and I bet you could use some pain medication," she said once she'd finished all her poking.

"Please," Peter responded. He looked over almost guiltily at Sasha. "Just not too much. I don't want to be completely out of it."

The nurse put some pain medicine in his IV and then turned to Sasha. "Do you need anything, Hon before I go let the doctor know he's awake?"

Sasha smiled, shaking her head quickly. "No, just give him as much as he's allowed, whether or not he gets out of it." She wanted him to feel better, regardless of how it made him act. If he fell asleep, it was still better than him being in a coma. "Thank you." But she was still generally unsatisfied with how long it took this woman to do anything.

"We'll get you all drugged up. It'll be totally awesome."

"Just no recording it and mocking me with it later," Peter joked, already feeling a little more relaxed and better because of the pain medication. He squeezed Sasha's hand in his. "Where's Henry?"

"He's with John. I dropped him off at Saj before I came here," Sasha explained. She hadn't known what to expect, which meant Henry had needed to stay with a friend. She didn't want him to see Peter like this. "He's okay."

"Good,' Peter responded. "He has fun with John."

He shifted a little, wincing and trying to get comfortable. He finally did and then closed his eyes for a second before opening them. "Are you alright? The baby's okay?"
