Peter was jogging a little bit later than usual that morning. He'd woken up late, decided to stay and have breakfast and coffee before he'd taken off. He had his earbuds in, music blasting into his ears and he hadn't stopped to think when he'd seen the little boy in the street chasing a ball. He'd reacted, running into the road and shoving the

She already knew that Claire was going to end up healing Peter. She had to, especially if it was bad. And with the miracle resurrection that Nathan had blamed on angels, this wouldn't have looked good. They were trying hard to cover up the Company, not make it public. So as much as she hated it, they were going to have to do things the old fashioned way - except for the healing.
When she got back to the city, she'd dropped Henry off with John, telling him that Uncle John had missed him and wanted to play. She knew he was confused, but he had been good in the car, and she'd faked enough interest in playing and coloring with him that she thought he was doing okay. She didn't want to mess that up.
By the time she'd talked to several doctors and been shown to Peter's room, she was trying really hard not to lose it. For some reason, things always had to happen with them. She got up and picked up the pitcher on his tray, filling a plastic glass with water. Instead of handing it to him, she brought it up to his lips. "I thought you were out of the superhero business."

"What can I do for you, Honey--oh you're awake," the nurse said as she walked in, the smile on her face got brighter when she saw Peter awake. "I'm just going to take your vitals and let the doctor know. He'll want to come by and see you," she said as she took his chart then started poking and prodding at him. "Vitals look good and I bet you could use some pain medication," she said once she'd finished all her poking.
"Please," Peter responded. He looked over almost guiltily at Sasha. "Just not too much. I don't want to be completely out of it."
The nurse put some pain medicine in his IV and then turned to Sasha. "Do you need anything, Hon before I go let the doctor know he's awake?"

He shifted a little, wincing and trying to get comfortable. He finally did and then closed his eyes for a second before opening them. "Are you alright? The baby's okay?"
