the shame of it all!

On my way home from work the other day, I was listening to one of the now-numerous "Jack" format radio stations. As these stations are wont to dredge up all manner of gems and dreck from the last several decades, a song from my preadolescence that I couldn't quite place came on. It had this very pretty, effervescent fingerpicky sort of intro, and incredibly cheesy love-anthem lyrics, but despite all this I found myself getting into it, singing along, the whole time wondering, "Damn, this sounds so familiar, what the heck is it?" It was one of those songs that is wildly popular for about five minutes and then, fifteen years later, no one can remember it.

So I Googled one of the lines from it, and now I wish I hadn't.

To my great horror, I found out it was "(Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection" by Nelson. Fucking NELSON. I feel so dirty.

I have to go take a shower now.
