school things.

this morning i made my way to TV Arts Production and our teacher is handing out our midterm tests. she comes up to me and says, "this test was hell to grade....so, thank you" and hands me my test.  i got an A+. which is pretty kick ass. i look up at her and say thanks.  im really quiet proud of myself. i really love that class and it makes me happy knowing the teacher sees that im doing well not only in production work, but paperwork too.  she sees that im dedicated the major.
granted, i took broadcasting in high school so i had a prior knowledge to alot of the equipment, but i didn't know much about programming an audio board or anything about lighting....so i read, and learned.  which pissed me off a little because so many girls in the class were like, "so, if we all did bad on the test it's not our fault , it's the teacher's fault.  she didn't make sure we knew the material."
first of all the class is a hands on class.. you need to DO STUFF to get a real grasp on the material not just stand around and watch like many of them do. i dont see anyone else volunteering to be gaffer or TD.  and yes i read the book but until i got up on that 12 ft ladder and had key lights all up in my face, i learned light names really quick.  FRESNEL!!!!

sheesh....

so yea, im happy im doing well in my classes. and im definatly looking forward to a quiet and relaxing evening.
