Update (The Birthday Surprise)

Dec 28, 2004 17:29

Well it seems that once again I have managed to neglect this journal for a short period of time so I suppose I should update you all on what has gone on in my text format absence.

I'm going to post about events that occurred where my last journal entry left off (which happened to be my birthday). The day got started on the right foot when I received many much appreciated “happy birthday!” emails and comments that left me in a …dare I say…almost ”chipper” mood. Rather unusual considering that I haven’t felt as if my birthday was different from any other day since I was a little kid, but I was left feeling better than normal which was fine by me. Regardless, I had spoken to Matt (belushimcc) relatively early in the day where we had made plans to take a trip up to the army/navy surplus store in cocoa. We meandered about touching unaffordable military items with childish delight as we discussed how they would be useful in the event of a zombie outbreak The end result of the trip was me buying a new hat…which happens to be useless against zombies, but I was please with it none the less. As day was making its transition into early evening; plans where made to meet up with the rest of the crew at T.G.I. Friday’s to celebrate my birthday. We all weren’t gathering until later that night so Matt and I had some time to kill before showing up. We ended up at the mall amongst all of its congested, pre Christmas glory. To tell you the truth the only thing I remember doing there was briefly talking to Steve at his little jewelry kiosk. I don’t think either of us was very interested in being there long considering the holiday shoppers were swarming like flies and hunger had settled in over the day. So we left. Before we knew it we were at Friday’s tallying up how many painfully attractive employees were present with a series of suggestive gestures and expressions; The silent, male “approval” if you will. The numbers were high and believe me when I figuratively say our jaws where dropped low at the sight. Eventually our dinner crew for the evening showed up which was comprised of Sarah (korodono), Al, and Zer0. Everything went as it always does. Joking, laughing, debating and the usual banter until a sneaky birthday surprise started looming about. Sarah and Matt had “subtly” been alluding something about to happen. I briefly made a trip to the rest room, but upon my return suspicious expressions were written all over everyone’s face. Oddly Matt asked to wear my new hat and distanced his chair from mine and then “it” happened. Before I knew it there was a plop on my head and was covered in whipped cream. Sarah snapped a picture and there were brief laughs from the group, which quickly stopped once the steam coming from my ears was noticeable. I stared longingly into my “happy place” to keep myself from exploding and said nothing. My hair was a cake like mess of sticky, embarrassing proportions. Now this wasn’t the original intention. One of those very same attractive employees that Matt and I had been drooling over earlier was supposed to come over, sit in my lap, rub cake in my face and say “happy birthday”. I would have been fine with that, but that didn’t happen. She thought it would be funnier to drop shit on my head. Oh the anger. ::shudders:: The shaky shaky anger. After a failed attempt to clean myself off in the bathroom I went to Al’s place so I could shower and wash my clothes. Sarah and Matt felt bad about my “birthday surprise” so by the time I got out they were all waiting with another cake, said sorry a million times and sung “happy birthday” which ended with Matt smacking his own head in the cake to make me laugh (The icing dye later gave him a rash on his head).

Over all I had a good birthday this year.

I love my friends
