[SNOW HAS PASSED OUT. HE IS LOCATED RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE CHAPEL AND OMEGA WEAPON IS NOW STANDING OVER HIM GLOATING. RETRIEVE HIM AND INSERT PHOENIX DOWN TO REVIVE HIM TO 1/5th HP.]
I DON'T EVEN, OKAY. I DON'T EVEN.fatedefierMay 27 2010, 04:33:56 UTC
[Though a part of him sincerely just wanted to ignore Snow and leave him to his well deserved fate, the man technically still was part of the group who shouldered Cocoon's fate. If he died here, would he never return, then, back to their own world? Would that hinder the mission? The "right" thing had to be done, he supposed, even if he half wanted to throttle Snow to death as it was. It took a bit of exploring and almost getting lost before he found where he was supposed to be; it was rather obvious, considering the enormous creature standing before him.
Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. It hardly looked like a thing he would be happy fighting against, especially considering he currently only had the use of his handgun here in this castle. With magic, maybe, but bullets alone were not going to take this thing down.
Retreating was the only option, but he wasn't in the mood to drag Snow's unconscious body off. With the money he had acquired so far, Cid had managed to buy himself a couple of phoenix downs, and it looked as if one of them was going to use now. Half thinking that he'd make Snow quite literally pay him back for this, he sighed and steadied himself, darting into the room and tossing one of them at Snow. If he was lucky, they'd be out of there before the monster could attack.]

[The first thing Snow notices are claws. The next thing he notices are claws on top of him.]
Ugh!
[Is pretty much all he can say. Everything hurts.
Fortunately, he's alive.
Unfortunately, he still seems to be very close and personal with the dragon-thing.
Fortunately, it seems to be distracted by something...else. Even as he's processing all this its claws move off of him, heading toward a corner of the room he seems to remember is where the door is.
Rolling unnoticed out from under the enormous and lethal mass, he is starting to push himself up when he sees a familiar face at the doorway.]
...which also happens to be a very good song from the Jekyll & Hyde musical.fatedefierMay 27 2010, 04:48:18 UTC
[Cid eyes the dragon wearily, ready to dodge at a moment's notice; if anything, his reflexes are at least good. He hears Snow yell at him and can only sigh at that.]
Might you complain a little less and get out of here already before we both get killed by this thing?
[All this shouting is making the chapel echo. It doesn't seem to be affecting dragon, who is dead set on Raines now and looks from Snow's sharply angled vantage like it's charging something.
Head still fuzzy, Snow is about to warn Raines about that when he realizes something just in time to see the chapel door fall shut with a heavy boom]
Hey Raines...
[he shouts around the dragon's massive bulk]
...uh...did I mention that door seems to kinda lock itself...?
[He takes a deep breath. Calms himself. Reminds himself that killing Snow is not the answer right now. Calm. Focus on the creature. With it seeming to charge up an attack, Cid quickly fires off several rounds at it before starting to move around the perimeter of the room.]
A truly wonderful job of informing me beforehand, Villiers!
WONDER AND MAGICmybikeputsoutMay 27 2010, 05:12:21 UTC
Hey, I live to please.
[At that moment though, he is drowned out by the beginning of a hail of flaming meteors from hell that begins to shake the entire chapel.
He would be surprised, if it hadn't happened about ten times before by now. One whistles down right on top of him, casting a hulking shadow bigger than his own, and he barely dives aside, shouting an addendum.]
Re: WONDER AND MAGICshurikenfemaleMay 27 2010, 05:31:07 UTC
Cissnei, managing to sneak into the chapel without getting completely noticed, sees Snow being attacked by meteors, or at least, that's what they look like. "Snow!" She hisses as loudly as she dares, "get out of the line of fire, you idiot! How long have you been at this? I told you to stay somewhere safer!"
She eyes the chapel quickly, scans it more like. "I need a weapon, or Materia, or something NOW." Cissnei turns to Cid and asks, "Have you actually managed to inflict some sort of damage on that? We need a plan of attack before you run out of bullets."
[He hasn't met the woman who had just appeared in the chapel, but it didn't take much to put together two and two---she must have been the one he was speaking to just recently (the term "materia" said enough). Cid was about to yell something out about the door before he heard it shut. Again. Wonderful.]
I doubt that bullets are having a strong effect on this thing, but without magic...
I LOVE YOU, MY SAVIORS WHO KEEP GETTING LOCKED INmybikeputsoutMay 27 2010, 05:56:08 UTC
[Snow looked over at the voice to see a surprisingly small girl with wavy hair in a suit motioning to him. Suits number two?]
Suits?
[Oh geez she was tiny! And she...looked really young!
Beginning to regret sending out that blanket call for help now. Well, not beginning--like he hadn't wished he didn't have to do it from the start. Goddamn injuries.
New plan: take dragon thing's fire. Snow dodged the petering out meteors to run in front of the other two, spreading his arms and winking over his shoulder.]
Sorry, suits, but I just can't do that. Cid, take her into one of those balconies and pick at this guy from there!
GET A CROSS, TURN IT INTO A WEAPONshurikenfemaleMay 27 2010, 06:19:17 UTC
"I came here to help, and it's my job to fight," Cissnei said solemnly. "You, on the other hand, need to get to safety." She almost slapped her face, but instead only said, "Don't do that, Snow, you'll only make it worse."
A cross! On the table! She ran for at full speed, weaving in and out of debris and broken columns the dragon had caused, and slid underneath the table. She grabbed it and was surprised by how light it was. "This will have to do."
On the way back to Cid and Snow, she kept looking for weakness in the dragon. "Is this thing armored all over? It must have some place where it doesn't have armor." When she got closer, she asked the two of them, "What if we blind it?"
It's certainly a start. Do you want to attempt it, or shall I?
[Bullets or cross, it didn't matter so much as their aim was true. Blinding it would give them time to either find a weak spot or find another way out of the room.]
How confident are you that you can hit that small window?
[It's an attempt to determine the answer to his own question. His own aim is good enough, though he can't deny that he is a little rusty in fighting like this; it has been some time since he's had reason to.]
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAmybikeputsoutJune 2 2010, 06:17:04 UTC
[The threaten attack seems like it's working--the dragon is focussing on Snow now, its two horrendous, teeth-filled faces gnashing and snarling spittle in his face. He is totally gonna have to wash this off or he'll get Serah dirty when he hugs her.
He looks over his shoulder at suits and winks--woah, when did she get that huge weapon?]
Heroes don't get to safety till everyone's safe. Hey, it's embarassing, being worried about by a girl like you.
[Snow turns to Cid]
C'mon Raines, you guys can plan all you want, but--
[He's interrupted when the dragon, unwatched, rears--there's an eruption of flames all around them that knocks the breath from his lungs, launching him and the rest of the party like ragdolls into the air.]
As they launched into the air, Cissnei hit her back against the roof, hard. She couldn't breathe with the smoke and then that didn't help much either. In a flurry, she managed to grab hold of one of the crossbars, dragging herself over, cross still in hand.
"Snow..." she began, but decided not to tell him what an idiot he was because he probably already knew. Coughing and hacking, she swung herself over and managed to find footing. Cissnei felt her ribs bruising and needed some kind of a potion or healing magic fast.
She eyed her cross, then down at the creature. "We don't stand a chance," Cissnei said between coughs. "Even we manage a hit in the, it still has three more and it would be most likely more upset." She searched desperately for answers, racking her brain.
"If someone can back me up, I can get close enough to rip the eyes to shreds, or find some kind of weakness." Maybe even pull a rodeo stunt like a chocobo rider, she thought rather sarcastically.
[It's times like this that Cid truly hates the fact that it has been far too long since he has been out in the field. The rank of Brigadier General and his role as the Cavalry's commander had been essentially a desk job for the most part, and the closest he's gotten to seriously fighting lately (aside from the unfortunate cactaur incident) was fighting...well. A group that included one of the people in the room, though the other didn't yet know it. Then, he had powers that he didn't have now. Now...a gun. A damned handgun against a giant dragon thing.
It's ridiculous, and the childish, bitter part of him somewhere knows he'll find a way to make Snow pay for dragging him into this.]
I'll draw its fire. Move fast and try to find something. Anything, at the point we are at. [A pause before he glanced at Snow.] And you... Tch, maybe if you punch it hard enough something will happen.
[He hopes that his uniform won't impede his movement too much as he takes off (the thing is stylish, yes. Impressive, yes. Practical, not in the least), firing a few shots at the monster as he attempts to draw its attention away from Snow and Cissnei.]
COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS TO CID'S TRAIN OF THOUGHTmybikeputsoutJune 4 2010, 03:32:20 UTC
Sounds like my kinda plan!
[Ugh, after that hit, his ribs are killing him. But they've gotta make it through this. Cid might be kind of a standoffish guy, but he really comes through in a pinch, and Snow's grateful. He didn't know what he would have done without teammates in this fight.
Keeping an eye on Suits in the rafters--pretty safe, for now--Snow charges straight in with a yell.]
SNOW: ALWAYS DOING HIS BEST TO BE ~HEROIC~shurikenfemaleJune 4 2010, 04:02:34 UTC
"SNOW!" Cissnei shouted. Hand gripped on the cross, she jumped off the rafter. She landed right behind Snow, catching up with him in a sprint. If he was going to attack, it should might as well be an onslaught. She sped off and started to run up one of the walls, hoping to attack from the side while Snow did whatever he did from the front. Probably punch it and break his hand, the idiot, she thought.
Cissnei alternated between the different columns that were ahead of her, getting closer to the creature. She slightly regretted having to take this course of action, but there wasn't much alternative: this was, after all, a deadly creature that required some amount of skill to defeat. Someone had to get close enough to at least weaken it.
At last, Cissnei landed as lightly as she could on its back, behind the attached humanoid body. Cissnei felt frightened and nervous, but she pushed it aside quickly and calmed herself. Blind it like you said, she told herself.
Running faster than before, she worked her way up the back of the humanoid attachment, down what she perceived its head and jumped backwards. She was face to face with it and in an instant she let fly the cross, aiming for one of the eyes.
Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. It hardly looked like a thing he would be happy fighting against, especially considering he currently only had the use of his handgun here in this castle. With magic, maybe, but bullets alone were not going to take this thing down.
