[Being immortal is not always synonymous with invincibility, and C.C's reminded of this as she's caught, once again. Too much attention drawn, too much fascination with a witch, curse though it may be.
Neutralize her, they say. Her hands are bound; for your mind will be destroyed if she touches you. Her mouth is sealed - for witches always, always lie. What harm can it be, to lock her in a sphere of water, where no one can hear, and no one can touch?
The Gray Witch is rendered ineffective, useless, save for the power she holds, and the gifts she's capable of giving. Her blood can create other creatures like her, her DNA is too much of a strain on the average human body. She can create miracles, they think. Leaps in the technology of mankind that would be both great and terrible.
But first, they have to extract it from her. C.C the individual is worthless to them. But the greed of humans would forever be their undoing. The preciousness of the cargo held had been discovered.
They say that the witch only brings death to all who seek to have her.
And they were right.
The few bodies - under the influence of the curse that unfolded on the path that she would have treaded on if she had not met Lelouch - were strewn around the tank. Bitter fights to the death for what lay within, and in the end, no one would have her.
She's trapped, but yet she tries. She will be found by those who know where to look. ]
