so, i was busy at work, typing away about boulevard's next show... when i hear a fire siren outside.. and another.. and another.. and then someone in the office says ,"OH MY GOD! WHAT IS HAPPENING?"
We all run to the window and in the distance, down Peachtree street (around 4th i guess), is a HUGE gathering of lights and sirens...police on motorcycles are driving about, traffic is re-directed.. and then...it begins.
Strolling north on Peachtree, a HUGE procession of fire trucks start rolling through, i am talking 30 or more vehicles.. each honking loudly and blowing their obnoxious sirens.
Did a fireman die? does this have to do with Bush being in town? A parade?
It was absolutely fantastic and bizarre to watch--- I wish I had my camera.
Anyway, I did some research, and apparently it is "Firefighter Recognition Day" and what we witnessed was the "parade of fire aparatus"
