You and Jason Should come over to our place sometime soon and play Monopoly with us. I love the game. And We (Monika and I, and You and Jason) don't hang out enough! Besides, I've got 4 different Monopoly Boards. Regular, 60th anniversary edition, Star Wars, And Year 2000 edition.
It will have to be after we get back from Colorado though
I think many people, especially many women, feel the same as you did about their best female friend. I also think that the whole "best friend" thing is a very female thing. We often need to feel connected with another woman beyond friendship, exactly like you said -like lovers who don't get physical. It's such a pure and beautiful bond. Except when one breaks it all up by hurting the other, of course.
Last time Peter and I played, I was beating him so badly that I felt bad... I should have gone for the kill, but instead, I stalled, hoping he'd catch up a bit, so it wouldn't look so bad when i beat him....
Well, he caught up, and then surpassed me... and beat me... That's what i get for not "going for the kill" and having pity on my poor man...
Never, never have pity on them during monopoly hahahaha.
Unfortunately, when I'm playing I can't seem to win, no matter how hard I try. Hollie's just too damn good.
I mean it. It's like she's in league with the devil or something (or at the very least in league with Moneybags, the Monopoly guy). I steal money, properties, short-pay her, swipe hotels, etc and STILL I can't win.
And yes, I have tried playing fair, but there's just no way to beat her.
wow, sounds like some tension here regarding the "letting you win thing". I think it's fair though... it's never nice to think you beat someone fairly to find out they let you win... or worse, that they are a sore loser and just say that to make you feel bad.
I never let people win, just try to let it be even until the end when I beat them... but this backfire's a lot. - i think I will adopt the whole, "No Mercy" philosophy..

... and yes, it is very hard when you trust is broken and the bond is destroyed. Very heart breaking.
