I know we are new friends so I don't know a ton about your situation, but I can offer moral support and hugs, and say hey, I'm an only child and while I'm probably buggered up enough to fill a dictionary, that really had nothing to do with it.
♥ You have not wronged your family, your son will be just fine, but sometimes you have to pay the devil his due, as my mother would say. It's okay to be sad/have regret sometimes. But if it starts to trouble you too much, I say kick its behind and put it back in the box.
I'm happy to help, if it comes to that. I have swords! And fic! And dozens of pictures of funny cats.
Thank you so much, hon - it's comforting to hear from only children that they're happy and don't have a huge hole in their heart where a sibling should be.

This cracked me up! When I woke up this morning, my cat was rubbing his face on mine, literally wiping away my tears. I actually told him he was better than a baby lol. It's amazing how quickly cats can help. :)
and swords and fic (or both at once) always help! I'll be burying myself in fic as soon as Springes is pubbed tomorrow, I'm sure. I'll start with yours. ♥
I'm sorry to hear you lost a sibling. I can't imagine what that must've been like. :( I have had steps, too - seven of them, actually. The only two I felt were truly my siblings have been for 15 years. I think being a singleton suits George well, esp with all his social issues. He asks for a sibling, but he only wants on OLDER one (he's very serious about this) lol.

And oh my gosh I totally remember this too. I went through a short phase where I very seriously wanted an older brother, even though I knew That's Not Quite How It Works. I'd forgotten all about that, roffles.

But being an only child is simpler, in a lot of ways, and I'm the kind of person who suits that just fine.
