The Sewing Commences!
For those wondering, California was nice :)
SO, on to now XD Last night,
orangeyak and
bakubaku stayed over after my family's 4th of July party (also lots of fun), and we had doll time and lots of Torchwood! I finished the shorts/knickerbockers for Al's outfit--we're dressing the pair in sort-of steampunk for Otakon--at long last, and Kate's progress on Adrienne's skirt/bustle is coming along quite nicely ^^ Also, I made a safe-for-the-con face patch for poor dear Henry :'D Don't wanna scare the kiddies or attract bad press, you know... plus it's really cute.

.....Okay, so the shorts don't have a front fastener yet. So sue me. Still, suspenders are love!

......We ended up just giggling and calling these two together "multicultural shotabait"
Roo is SO CUTE! And I <3 his fireworks kimono, even if it's not his 8D
They also have the cutest feetses ever.
I feel like he looks really... clever, here :) Which of course he is, but that's beside the point :P
Then Rom had to go and drape his ho self all over them
Cuteness of hand-holding, because it's adorable ^^
But being excluded got Rom.... a bit pissed at me XD
What's that Henry's got?
It's an adorable face patch! 8D
To show how it works... it's actually pulled tight and cheater-hooked through his headcap to keep it really firmly in place.
His shaggy wig hides all the messy knots ^^;
Bald but still pretty :) Far from done... She's still waiting for a detatched collar and separate sleeves, but that's the essential idea of the top.
And a sneak peak at the unfinished skirt... This will be the top layer--all lace bustles!
I just like Kyu. That's about it.
He's a pretty little fox.
Apparently, Ed likes Kyu too O_o My cat is much with the odd. She was attacking, playing with, and rubbing her face on a tissue full of olive pits >_<

I don't know why this amuses me so much XD BUT IT DOES.
Lots more to come... When finished, Al will also have tall white socks, a brown vest instead of the suspenders, a hat to match the vest, a faux pocketwatch chain coming out of his pocket, and a recreation of his original necklace just for this outfit. Adrienne will have the remaining parts of her blouse, the finished skirt (I'll post a sketch in a few days of the plan), patterned hose, and her boots. Rom is borrowing some Volks clothes from Roo for the con, with these boots I'm buying. It should be nice, and even with the con only two weeks away I think we can get everything done in time!
