Just got back from all-state. It was so tiring, but a lot of fun. The conductor (though crazy), was amazing and a lot of fun. There were a lot of normal people there which was a nice surprise cause I figured all-state=weird choir kids. Don't get my wrong, there were weird kids there too, but some normal people. I still needed to find a way to entertain myself though.
I spent the entire time I was there pretending I was from England. I had an entire story made up too:
I was born in Oxford-shire (half an hour from Oxford a little over and hour and a half from Manchester). When I was 3 I moved to America with my parents and my nanny. "Why haven't you lost your accent?" Well it's cause my parents still have it, and if you had an accent like this would you work to americanize yourself? Exactly. Anyways, everyone at all-state believed me. I told people I could fake an American accent (my real voice), and a kid told me it needed work. I almost lost it there, but I kept it going the entire time. I finally told everyone right before the concert, and got the same responses Chris, Yousef and Jon got earlier this year. (i.e. "I hate you", "I'm never speaking to you", "Dude, that's amazing", "Oh I already knew")
Anyways...all in all it was a really fun weekend. The concert went amazingly, so now I'm off to go sleep.
