Has anyone had to go to an optometrist/opthalmologist (sp?) in town recently to get new contact lenses? I *love* my eye doctor in Toronto and have been going to her for four or five years now. Not having contacts, I don't know how much she charges. Her name is Linda Skrapits (416-968-2300); everyone in the office is super friendly and helpful. Our grad insurance pays for $75 (?) of an eye exam every two years and $125 or so for contacts or glasses.

I should clarify that I don't think AB gets recognition and acclaim simply *because* he is blind. He is talented, but not as talented as others to whom he is compared. I often feel like too big a deal is made of his blindness, like he is a dog and pony show... But that is my opinion, and I wholly concur with the comment below that many people do not share said opinion.

Few things piss me off more than people who are not only unnecessarily hostile, but don't even have the balls to reveal who they are. Differences in opinion are absolutely valid and welcome; people being assholes, not so much.
