(no subject)
An email was circulated to CMS folk a while ago offering the chance to brush up on reading German. I've really been feeling my language skills drop lately, especially German, so I responded with some excitement. The prof coordinating the reading group recently emailed those interested to confirm a meeting time--and I realized that (1) the rest of the group consists of Super Smart and Advanced PhD-ers who are almost certainly way beyond my skill level, and (2) I've REALLY forgotten how to read German, no joke. Too bad the professor wants to do some sight passages, um, tomorrow at our first meeting. Scroooooooood. Damn, how do I always manage to put myself in these situations?!
