I have, once again, a clog of ideas I don't think I will ever write up in my brain. I shall write then down here and then people can adopt them or carve out bits they want to use. Should you adopt any of it, it'd be nice if you dropped me a line and show me where it is so I can read it and nod and be happy for them for finding a nice home. Oh, and if you come across similar ideas, I'd love it if you sent a link!
#1
So, ignoring the epilogue and other details....
I want Petunia to turn up pregnant with Snape's child. Not quite sure how it happened. Some magical thing without touchies? Or long distance as-I-died accidental projection to the nearest thing to Lily, or an affair (because, let's face it, Vernon could get old, in more than one meaning of the word!)? Say she found out Vernon was having an affair and decided to get some of her own back. Or a bizarre one night stand. Or someone magical wanting Snape to have an heir and doing it as an obligation or a kindness. Petunia drinking a potion left for her in the guise of fizzy drink. Or someone wanted to keep Snape's things from being taken by the ministry and does something that gives him an heir this way.
Harry, of course, ends up with custody of the infant. With those two for birth parents, one would expect a very ugly and sour baby, but I think the kid should win the genetic jackpot and actually be very attractive.
#2 Clones?
A DE wanting revenge on Snape the traitor finds a way to clone or recreate Snape's body over and over, so he and his friends can have the pleasure of killing him for the evening's entertainment. Each DE gets to devise the torture for an evening, and at the end the copy is killed. One night, after this has been going on awhile and the DE are careless.... Anyway, in one version, Snape's floating soul finds a way into the body and he escapes. Ends up with Harry, of course.
In another version, something happens and they don't get to kill the copy at the end of their party. It ends up at St. Mungo's and Harry gets custody. There's Snape's body but the mind is a blank slate, no memories. Harry has to remake the man. Does he try to recreate Snape's past, or does he give him a new hope and no past? I think it would ge amusing that Harry would have to teach Severus potions!
#3 is a school story. I am fascinated by the idea of Harry starting his own school and may play around with the the idea some day. I've promised myself to finish some of the damn things before I start on any more, so it will be awhile. Anyway, Harry has his own school 1) muggleborn pre-Hogwarts summer program, or 2) students forced out of
Hogwarts or unable to attend or 3) second chance, where you prep for the tests you might not have been able to take. Or an anti-school, where he takes kids in holidays and summers if they have no home to go to--he has them when they are not at Hogwarts, in other words. Anyway, I like the idea of either Harry going to find Snape as a teacher for his school or Snape coming to Harry because he needs a place/job.
#4 Snape's will. Everything goes to the person who will bear a child and continue his line. Everyone is SHOCKEd when Harry is the one to claim the potion and drink it. Mpreg. Or, Harry finds himself PG and doesn't know how, and it turns out he drank the wrong potion. That one could be a comedy.
#5 Harry goes back to Snape's dead body as soon as he can, and being unable to do anything for him, collects a sample, such as a lock of hair, or some blood, or semen? He goes to great lengths to make the potion with it that will let him become PG with Snape's baby. Snape has taken over his body? Harry feels Snape deserves to have a part of him exist?
Okay. I'll stop now.
