This what I was listening to
a couple of posts ago. It's amazing stuff, and I decided it's worth spamming you lot with.

Zulya and the Children of the Underground. Very hard to describe. Lots of different and unusual instrumentation, including accordion, electric guitar, an alto voice to die for (especially in Russian), and once piece with just that voice, a trumpet, a tuba and a vibraphone *shivers*
The words are all in Russian, but don't let that deter you. This is brilliant music. Influenced in large part by Zulya's Tatar (for the uninitiated (like me): from Tatarstan) heritage, I'd describe it as (large) part folk, (small) part jazz, part something else entirely. All fascinating. I'm listening to it almost obsessively.
This is the kind of stuff that should be on radio.
Oh, shit. I've just posted for the 3rd time in the last 2 days! What's going on here?
