Art Update
Art update again. Lately, I've been working on a lot of different things, and never really finishing them. That kind of sucks, but I'm sure I'll get back to them at some point. Today, I made a card for my Aunt Albertine's birthday tomorrow, I actually really like it. She's having a pirate themed birthday party, so she's getting a pirate themed card, dammit.
I had to take pictures of them with my camera again, so they are all kind of washed out. I fixed them as best I could. As always, click for bigger. Ok, so finished ones first:
The front of the card, I especially love the 'yo-ho' part, since the pirate has no practically no clothes on. I want those tights, dammit!
The inside of the card. For those of you not firmiliar with sugar skulls, The Mexican Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 1st (All Saints Day) and 2nd (All Souls Day). On the 1st they celebrate the children and infants who died that year, on the 2nd they celebrate the adults who died that year. They go to the cemetary and decorate the head stones with sugar skulls, calaveras de azúcar ("sugar skulls") are used to adorn altars and can be eaten.
The back of the card. My cousin, Chris, was giving me shit for not decorating the back of the card after working so hard on all the shit on all the other sides, so I colored a quick swallow. It matches after all. On the bottom it just has my signature and year.
Eye patch man. Portait of a guy from the W magaine I bought for the plane trip out here, I love that magaizine they have kind of and artistic high-fashion pictures. Great for references.
11th and Willamette. I found this cute coffee shop at this intersection that has a little bar set up against the window looking out so I went for a few days straight and did this. I posted a sketch of it earlier, now you can see it side by side.
Now for the unfinished sketches...
Fuck you and your ipod. When I ride the bus sometimes people ask me about my zune, apparently since it is not an ipod it must be inferior, and they are surprised by all my zune can do. Well, I hate the stupid ipods, the stupid scrolly-wheels, the bad OS, and the overall shittyness of the machine. SO, FUCK YOU AND YOUR IPOD.

The next two are mermaids, Albertine's been getting me into mermaids becuase she is wanting me to do a mural of a mermaid at her beach house. I think I like the 1st one best so far.
So, that's it for that, now more randomness. Not much to say about the past few days, just looking for work, talking to people in Ga, hanging out with Julian, Ross, Sean, and Pete (interchangably) and counting the seconds until mom leaves. She leaves Saturday morning, I am so excited to have the house for awhile. I can't imagine Julian will be getting up before noon and I don't think I will be able to go back to sleep after seeing mom off at 6AM so I think I will re-arrange the house, mom has the furniture in all kinds of retardedness. I think I'll skip the shore this weekend and enjoy the house and not having any parental guidance on this coast haha.
