I honestly thought it'd be another 2 months, regardless of my "promises" but hey! Here it is. 80 pictures.
Part 20b of the Marauders Story!
So we ended the last part with Remus Lupin standing in the flowers.
Well, he's still standing out there. He thinks about his schooldays and swoons at the fond memories of studying.
After standing out there for some time, Remus is greeted by Lily...
Who doesn't actually see any need to put on clothes to leave the house. So Lily greets Remus in her underwear.
Remus doesn't find anything wrong with that at all.
They chat for a while. Remus catches Lily up on what's happening with Sirius...
And Lily shows Remus how much her breasts have grown since their last meeting.
The subject goes back to Sirius and Lily goes into a minor seizure.
Lily suddenly whips out her cell phone, which is kind of rude, considering Remus was still talking to her. He shoots me a quick look, as if it's somehow my fault... Behind them, a woman seems to have wandered onto their property.
Lily apparently keeps her cell phone tucked into her panties.
Now, who in the world could Lily have invited over?
Oh, goody! Snape comes over, bringing along Mr. Lupin, who seems to have something in his eye.
Darkness falls as soon as Snape steps onto the lot. He and Lily greet each other with far too friendly air kisses.
Evidently, the kisses were too friendly for both parties. Lily starts immediately thinking of her husband (and why he doesn't kiss like that) and Snape just walks away frowning. Everyone ignores Mr. Lupin. He eventually gets the hint and goes home.
In the entertainment room, Remus and James are playing a game of pool. I would've referred to it as a friendly game of pool, but then I realized that Remus is looking deadly serious about this.
He might even be a little ... insanely aggressive ... about this game. Just a little.
Snape lets himself into the room and invites himself into their pool game. Now, I'm pretty sure this is the first time Snape and James have ever met, isn't that right? Snape's doing wonders on first impressions, then. First he feels up the wife on the front lawn, then he butts into the pool game. *shakes head sadly*
James isn't sure what to make of his guest.
I'm not entirely sure what to make of Remus right now.
Remus abruptly leaves the room, having just thought up something of sheer brilliance that he must share with Lily.
Done with the pool, James and Snape sit down on the couch together for a nice little chat.
Snape brings up really tall buildings, which seems to interest James quite a bit.
Having shared his brilliance with Lily, and been slightly scared off by her mumbles of "fire" and "death to all", Remus joins the men on the couch.
I guess you could say that things took an awkward turn.
Only to get even weirder when Remus starts yelling at Snape for no reason. (James is suddenly interested again.)
"I MEAN, COME ON!!" Remus shouts, turning to me for support. Hell if I know what he's yelling at. James is still grinning like the James that he is. (Because he really isn't an idiot...he's just a James.)
Still grinning, James gives Remus a thumbs-down, stealthily hiding it behind one hand. Having finished yelling at Snape, Remus just smiles at him.
As James begins whispering to himself and Remus continues to placidly smile at nothing, Snape turns a tight, false grin in my direction, silently wondering why the hell he ever accepted Lily's invitation to come over. He could be at home reading right now.
It seems that Remus is thinking the exact same thing. (That he could be at home reading, that is. Lily never invited him, he just showed up to stand in the flowers.) Snape is cupping his hands around one eye to see the television better.
Remus decides that he's had enough for now. Maybe he can go help Lily with dinner or see if she'll show him how to work that interesting bubble machine they have behind the house that James seems so fond of.
Without Remus, James and Snape are pretty much out of conversation topics. Luckily, someone else has decided to join them...
"What the HELL is that?"
"I'm Harry, jack-off."
"It's my son."
"But why is it here?" It seems that Snape doesn't like Harry's scary story about birds. James is appropriately frightened, though.
Snape is thoroughly disapproving of this new development. The evening was going fine enough without having to add children to it.
Once Harry starts screaming and violently cursing at the television, the realization really sinks in for Snape: He is in for a long night in the worst kind of Hell.
James brings up the topic of Lady Bugs. Snape shrugs, because he doesn't have anything to say about fucking lady bugs. Harry punches himself in the jaw. No one is entirely sure why.
Harry gives a big yawn and decides to leave the room. James is busy telling Snape just what Lady Bugs mean to him. Snape is busy trying to plan his escape route.
Snape sees the chance for escape and jumps on it.
"Bathroom, brb."
"Lolz, ok."
While Snape takes a dump, Remus comes close to vomiting. The green smoke coming from the food should've been his first clue it was rotting...
Snape comes into the kitchen after using the restroom and asks Remus to play the "Guess if I washed my hands" game.
Remus has never been fond of this game.
James comes out of the kitchen, having suddenly made a platter of spaghetti. Lily is still in the kitchen, talking to Sirius on the phone. They're planning their Great Bank Heist. (Also called The Game In Which Sirius Pretends So As To Help James Keep An Eye On Lily.)
Snape thinks the spaghetti smells simply divine. In the kitchen, Harry is about to attempt hurling himself on to the counter using only the dish washer handle.
Remus needs to move around Snape to get a seat, Snape wants to move towards Remus to get his own seat. There's a tense moment where they debate who gets to move first.
Everyone gathers around the table, tucking into a great meal. Remus starts a conversation about books. Everyone's looking quite pleased, except for Snape, who is poking his spaghetti suspiciously.
While Snape and James discuss the muggle sport of skiing,
Remus starts to tell about how much he hates Lady Bugs. Harry, for some reason, just glares across the table at Snape.
The conversation turns a little awkward and tense as the dinner progresses.
Noticing this, Harry shovels down his food as fast as he can, hoping to leave before someone snaps and starts throwing spaghetti. Or, if his mother is the one to snap, knives.
James lets out a belch...
And it fails to amuse Remus and Lily. It does strike Harry as nothing short of hilarious, though.
Another belch from James! Quite the spaghetti he's made tonight! (Snape still can't believe he accepted that invitation.)
Remus is understandably disgusted. Lily pauses with her fork midway to her mouth. "James Potter, we have company."
Harry gobbles up his last bite, happy to be finished because Lily really is on the edge of utensil-throwing.
Conversation dies down as Harry picks up his plate and excuses himself from the table. Lily, Remus, and Snape collectively mutter "Lucky bastard" too low for any of the rest to hear. All together like that though, it does come out pretty loud.
Snape tries to make up by simpering and sniffling over how good the food was. This just kind of creeps James out.
In an act of kindness that Snape perceives as violating his personal space, Harry cleans up Snape's plate for him.
Everyone (except Lily) marvels at Harry's impeccable manners as he leaves the kitchen. "Golden boy, I know," he calls over his shoulder.
After the meal is all put away and cleaned up, Remus corners James in the kitchen to preform a little dance. At first James is suspicious of his motives.
Then he realizes what is really going on and Oh! how he would love to join in.
So he does. And they uh, do that for a while.
Meanwhile, Snape is in the entertainment room, entertaining himself.
James wonders what all the racket is and heads into the room himself.
Remus is in the kitchen, scratching his arm and his balls.
They decide to join Snape in the pool game. Snape is less than thrilled and slams his head into the table.
Snape's whole strategy seems to be making weird faces to distract the other two.
This kind of pisses Remus off.
Mostly because, when he tried it, nobody was distracted one bit.
He really doesn't understand how Snape does it, so he studies him. Looking a bit like a monkey as he does so. An angry, inquisitive monkey.
As Snape rounds the table for a shot, he gives James an angry glare.
James looks back all innocent. "Whatever is it?"
Right after this purely innocent look from James, Snape misses what would've been the winning shot. Snape uses a number of colorful curses to express his anger.
He's making Remus just a wee bit nervous.
James prepares for his final shot. If he makes this, he wins.
The tension isn't exactly great, because Remus isn't really aware of what's happening.
Oho! James Potter is the victor! He jumps in surprise, cheering himself on.
Remus is shocked.
Devastated.
Broken inside.
Pretty okay and ready to head home now.
Next update, whenever that may be, will contain the happenings at the Lupin-Black estate (and oh how the happenings have been happening, people.)
DUDE. OVER 500 FRIENDS. WOW. *confetti*
