[You know that nice, creepy sound of someone makes when coughing up something not solid? Well, that's the nice noise anyone listening will hear as soon as Crona wakes up, and the only thing he can manage to do at first is panic. If you're able to give him a few quiet minutes, he'll eventually calm down enough to just start crying.]

[ That nice, creepy sound isn't nice to Alf at all, and he jumps for the journal when he hears it. When he realizes who it is, part of him is relieved that Crona's back, while the other part is even more worried. ]

. . . Crona!? Are you all right? Where are you?

[ voice ]

...I don't know...

[That could be an answer to either one, or both of the questions. He doesn't sound very good at the very least.]

[ voice ]

This isn't good.

[ Neither is a preferred answer. There's shuffling in the background as he gathers a thing or two to head outside with. ]

I know you're having a rough time, Crona, but could you try and describe your surroundings? . . . Once I find you, I'll take you home.

[ voice ]

[Any place in Luceti is not what he considers 'home', but he doesn't feel like pointing that out..

Instead he just moves his journal around enough to show about where he is. He's not too far in the woods, at the very least, and this is the best you're gonna get. Because he will just say 'trees and snow']

[ Poor kid.

That's good enough for him. With a quiet word of thanks, Alf dashes outside and heads for the woods. Although he doesn't often do so, he takes the journal with him this time, just in case he needs to refer to it again. ]

[Well, Crona won't be moving any time soon, even if he is freezing. So feel free to take your time.]

[ action ]

[ But taking his time would be so insensitive! Not that he has much to work with. Still, as Crona isn't too deep in the woods, fate is merciful to have Alf stumble across him soon enough.

The sight makes him come to a dead stop. It's a bloody mess -- literally. He takes slow, deliberate steps towards the curled up figure. ]

Crona . . . ?

[ action ]

[The only response Alf will get is a small nod, and he curls up more. Ooh he feels sick.

[ Alf comes closer (though not too closely) and crouches down in front of Crona. His instincts demand that he attempt some healing, but he remembers Crona's aversion to magic. ]

Can you get up? It's cold out here. We need to get you inside.

[Well he doesn't really look hurt...more just sick.]

...I don't know.

[ action ]

[ Like that's any better. ):

But drat. He stops to think. ]

Do you think you can manage if I let you lean against me?

[Well, at least he's not dying!

And please hold while he thinks about it. It doesn't look like he thinks he can though. All he wants to do right now is lay down and try not to get sick.]

[ Ffft, he doesn't even want to consider that possibility.

Another dead end. Alf offers another suggestion this time. One that comes off as more of a question than anything else, since he doesn't want to invade Crona's privacy. ]

I'll carry you -- if that's all right.

...Carry me?

[He can't even remember the last time someone had to carry him!]

[ That is such a sad thought.

Anyway, Alf nods. It's up to Crona if he goes through with it or not. ]

[The lack of options is starting to suck.]
