Saw "Million Dollar Baby."

I just wanted to pop over and say: Yes, it really is THAT GOOD.

Damn.

Dad, if you read this, I haven't read your paper yet, but will at some point within the next few days, once I'm done, you know, processing.

The rainy season has started, which means not much sun for the next six weeks. Actually, today was sunny so I thought I might go to Nikko, but last night a friend and I gorged on some absolutely incredible Indian food. This wouldn't be a problem except that the intense flavour of Indian cooking camouflaged the fact that one of the dishes had cashews in it (they weren't marked on the menu, which was in English) and I'm mildly allergic to cashews. Cashews = upset stomach = not feeling at all up to hoofing it out to Nikko this morning, even though it was one of the last nice days I'll see in the next six weeks, and possibly the very last day that I have off.

And June appears to be The Movie Month, as I will probably see Batman next weekend. Anything by Chris Nolan is worth the price of admission.

Tomorrow, however, is hiking-boot-shopping day, I think. My friends and I have decided to tackle Mt. Fuji on July 3rd, and from what I've heard, boots with good ankle support are recommended, more for the descent than the climb. Anyway, if I get them tomorrow, that should give me plenty of time to break them in, should they need it.

And now I'm blithering. I should really go to sleep.
