I'm really going to miss the Boston Winters. Weird since all people do during the cold season is complain about the wet and slush.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely abhor slush. Snow would be okay if it didn't melt into that atrocious black slush and freeze into black ice that makes walking about in Boston so fearful and tiring.

But at the same time, it's a fierce familiarity that I've come to know. And there's always comfort in what you know best. Winters are bitter in NY too, but it's a different sort of harshness. A little duller, a little blunter, less primal.

Or it could just be that I'm going to miss what it means to not walk up and down Bay State Road anymore in the muffled silence during a heavy snowfall when B&G has given up and gone home.
