Hi all!
I've had a ridiculous couple of weeks.
But first of all I want to thank all you lovelies who wished me a happy birthday! Sorry for not thanking some of you earlier, I've only had the energy to check my email and quickly skim my FList after work each day.
Thanks especially to Carrie (I love-love-loved the card! That is one funny woman!), Sotia, and Codykitten for the lovely cards and prezzies. They certainly made my day :)
So I've finally started my job in the city. And while training is oh-so-fun (read boring) I'm really enjoying actually having something constructive to do during the day. I have been lucky that I've had two four day weeks to get used to the travel time though. I have to commute an hour and a half each way which I'm actually OK with (until the last ride home during the week) as I've finally been able to make a dent in my 'to read' pile of paperbacks I've been collecting for the past four years. Of course I actually started with my most recent purchases which I would recommend to everyone. It's a series of four books by David Wellington (13 Bullets, 99 Coffins, Vampire Zero, and 23 Hours). They are fantastic. Sort of like reading an action movie without the cheese and with a bit of Silence of the Lambs elements to it. Sorry, I tend to get distracted when I start thinking/talking about these books....
Anyhoo, my first two weeks of training have been great. A couple of other girls are starting with me though they're quite a bit younger than me, but hey, I'm hip, I'm happening ;)
I am happily falling into a routine with the travel and work though, so hopefully I'll be bringing my laptop with me on the train and have a good hour to write each way, depending on if it's my eight am start or not. Not entirely certain that I'll be that awake on the six am train...
Aside from that I really have no news with my generally 12 hour work days. I am catching up on a few stories and will endeavor to review when I actually have a bit more time on my hands.
Currently debating whether or not I'll go to Supanova here in Melbourne. I'm sure I'll be harassing Henri about it after the weekend....
