So today is the first day I don't feel like sleeping the whole friggin' day. Big YAY!
Day five after the operation and the bandage finally came off... kind of a shocking moment. What I had been told was going to be a roughly 3cm incision is actually 10 cm, in a lovely straight line right across my throat. It sort of looks like I've been slit across the throat and survived. At least that's what I'm planning on telling people *grin* though hubby is telling everyone he tried to cut my voicebox out to get me to talk less... *rolls eyes* oh so funny, dear...
But after the initial panic where I almost passed out from sheer shock, I inspected it closer and it is beautifully done and it doesn't seem like it will scar as badly as I initially though. Which is great and I think I knew that from the beginning, it was just a lot to take in. I can also add, able to keep my head upright for more than 20 mins without support to my list of abilities. Big plus there as well.
I put up our Christmas tree (hubby doesn't like them) tonight so I'm feeling a whole lot happier as well. I had to miss a friends engagement party tonight cuz there's no way I'd be able to socialize and partay down for a few hours, my new 30 minute break free sitting aside. But quite happy that hubby's out having a good time tonight. He's been sweet while I've felt crappy and we spent the whole day playing lego star wars on Xbox being giant dorks.
I have been watching Joan of Arcadia (I know, old show, old news) and saw the final episode today which resulted in great frustration. No conclusion, no nothing. Stupid cancelling of shows before giving them a chance to at least tell me what was going to happen! So I'm madly searching fanfic world for a good conclusion, but so far nothing interesting.
But I just essentially wanted to let everyone know that I'm around again. I'm working on a few changes to my new story with help from the fabulous Mari, and hopefully I'll start posting that after Christmas some time. I'm trying to catch up on fics, but reading at the computer is a little tougher on me than vegging out in front of the TV. But maybe tomorrow :)
Thanks for all the well wishes!
Hugs!
