Has anyone else realized how unfair the world is? I was just watching a movie about this kid who gets bullied, and it made me so sad. If you're reading this, chances are you are a healthy, active, involved, extremely intelligent, and fairly wealthy teenager. We go to school and compare ourselves to each other and talk about all of our shortcomings and our inabilities, but the fact is, we are pretty damned amazing, and also very, very lucky. For some reason, we were born this way. God, or whatever you think created you, made you the way you are, and I think we were created like this for a reason. Sure that person in your chem class might be smarter than you, or that girl in choir has a much prettier voice, but in the end that doesn't matter. We are all on this world to take what we have been given and share it with everyone else. No matter how much or how little you have, you need to share it. Those of us who have been given so much have so much more to share. I guess this is my plea in a moment where I am seeing more clearly than normal; Change the world.
It sounds so big, doesn't it? The world. 6 billion people. But I'm not talking about influencing every single one of them. Make a difference in the lives of people around you. Let the world be a better place because you were in it. In a hundred years we will all be dead. It won't matter if you got an A in chemistry or were captain of the football team. What will matter is the difference you have made in other's lives, so try and make that difference a good one.
I'm not saying that I do this all the time. In fact, there are so many times where I'm tired or I'm PMSing so I use that as an excuse to be mean or sarcastic or plain obnoxious. And that's not an excuse. So hopefully I can maintain this lucid moment, and maybe work just a little bit harder. And I guess that I'm asking you to try and do the same thing.
