It started tonight at about 7:30, an hour earlier than normal Wednesdays. The only problem was that the past hour and a half was spent with my neck arched at a particularly harsh angle, lips pursed, shoulders tense, fingers gripping my black pen as I attempted to spill everything I know about the Second Temple Period and the Jewish Diaspora. The problem besides my sore back is that it wasn't much. Essays come in handy when you find yourself in this predicament. It's called Bull Shitting. And I'm sure my instructor, as pretty as he is, will see right through it.
After somehow convincing myself to go for a run at the rec and wasting about ten minutes looking for a parking spot, I spent some quality time on the track. There is a time (night!) and place (in Tucson!) for indoor running. And sure, it's a little kinder on the joints and my slightly longer right leg, but holy freaking cow. Eleven laps to a mile? Times three? Plus a couple for warm-up? Hello, my name is Lindsay, and I'm a hamster. Thank God for Collective Soul and iPods.
And then I rented a movie. Yes, my dear friends. I, the woman who barely has time to freak out about how little time she has, watched a movie. And while watching said movie? I sat- no, lounged- on the couch. For two whole hours, I thought of nothing but how wonderful Steve Carrell is and how much I wish I was Juliette Binoche and why it is that Romantic Comedies just seem to get me.
Have I mentioned the splendor and joy that is SPRING BREAK?! I have friends going to Mexico, on a cruise, St. Louis, tournament trips with the basketball team, and everywhere! else! But, not I. I am lounging, dear internets. And working and attacking my ridiculous To-Do List and participating in the wonder that is Spring Cleaning. But, mostly, I am lounging. I could not be more excited.
First order of business: sleep. Lots of it. Maybe even until 7:30. Second order of business: resurrect my blog. Because, seriously. Yawn.
