Hmm, Max. . . Takanari likes Max a lot! Obviously! But he's also aware that he can't possibly enter her realm and honestly do anything for her. She's in her own world, and he's alright with that. He just wants to show his support for her in his own way. . . And keep an eye out to make sure that she isn't overestimating herself. Really, Takanari gets the feeling that Max doesn't have her whole heart where it ought to be, isn't satisfied by her lot, and so on. But he doesn't know how to help her with that, since he has trouble finding the confidence to voice his thoughts.
Roxas is a bit easier. It was an unsaid bond that they were both on the level with each other that Takanari doesn't question. Roxas is involved in a lot more than Takanari could ever imagine, but it's just by virtue of lack of experience rather than understanding. There's still a lot more to be shared between them, since Takanari gets that he's not seeing all of Roxas, but he's still pretty darn fond of him, anyway. Takanari has time, and he doesn't mind spending it with Roxas.
