Last night I watched part of this doco about a guy that went covert into Martin Creek Kennel, which was in the state of Arkansas, in the USA. His purpose was to film and gather evidence to make a case of animal cruelty against them and he was working with the

I watched that too! How disgusting was it! I made my mum watch it as well. One of the things that disturbed me was the fact there are people out there, breeding and seeling dogs like they're livestock (I hate saying that, because I don't like seeing cows or sheep raised and sold in the same manner - as if they're nothing more than a money source, but that's the thing that instantly came to mind when I saw those bastards at the flea market) - no wonder there's so many dogs out there that can't find homes and have their lives cut short. And the ones stealing dogs! That made my heart ache - the thought of someone coming into my yard, stealing my babies and selling them to a dealer who'll sell them to people who are going to cut them up and experiment on them... that sorta shit gives me nightmares.

But yeah, that movie/doco made me so mad. It's so frustrating that it took so long for them to shutdown Martin Creek Kennel, and fine the Bairds. Imagine how many more animals suffered while the case was being choked through the system *sigh* Still, so glad it was actually taken seriously and those fuckers were made to pay. People who don't view animals as anything more than a quick buck are monsters. Animals are not here so we can make a profit on them.

Has fluffy been to the vet recently? They might have to do some skin tests on her, find out what the problem is and administer the right medication so it'll clear up faster. Advocate's a pain in the ass, I buy single doses every month for my dogs because I can't afford to buy the big packs (3 different sized dogs = three different sized packs) - but they're still itchy so I have to rinse them in Permoxin every week. I hate fleas.

It's a fucked up world.

I never thought of dog theft before seeing that but I guess it's a problem over there. Don't know about here.

Fluffy had the same problem 6 months ago and no tests were done but talking to one of the girls at the vet yesterday and she mentioned maybe seeing a skin specialist. I'm not totally happy with the vets there but we've been going to them for years. it's not that they aren't good but they don't explain much and are very clinical, although one of them is really good in communicating the issues but isn't there much. Last time they just gave fluffy an injection and she had to take pills for months. It worked but I reckon there's underlying issues with her nerves and to the vet it's simply a skin irritation. Maybe he's right but she goes weak at the knees when you scratch certain spots and has bad nerves at times.

That's a PITA you have to buy 3 different dosages but can't you buy a bigger one and split it up between at least the smaller dogs? I used to do that. Fluffy hasn't had fleas on her for ages, except for one or two lately. She's an indoor dog though, so maybe that's why, OR the fleas are biting her, causing the irritation then jumping off. I'm more inclined to think it's something from rolling around in the grass in the backyard.

Never heard of Permoxin. Will google it. I was just going to try Malaseb, see if it helped and if not take her to the vet but she's been biting her self raw so I'll probably take her today.
