I kind of followed this last year (am still slightly clueless to how it is played, other than VOTE FOR YOUR FAVES OKAY) but it seems amaaazing and you should check it out if you have some time
In other news, university has started blah blah blah. My shoulder hurts and I am in the market for a backpack but I'm pretty sure that would ruin all the ~effort I put into looking like a for real Arts kid. No, I am actually kidding, I do actually need suggestions for cute backpacks so if you know of any brands/sites/pictures which are helpful I will love you, like a lot.
In fannish things,
antistar_e has written some amazing TSN fic lately and you should read it even if you don't care for TSN fic because they are CROSSOVERS and like I said, amazing.
A Fellowship to Call Your Own is the HP crossover where Mark is a Slytherin and Eduardo is a Hufflepuff and there's scarf sharing and the girls are awesome and everything is generally adorable.
The Rules of Endogamy is a His Dark Materials crossover. Yes, it is. Daemon fic is kind of my secret weakness actually. It's Erica centric which is nice because we don't see many great things written about her and the boys are so sweet and great and DAEMON FIC GUYS, HOW CAN YOU NOT WANT TO?
My dvd of An Education arrived today which was cool, even though I don't have the time to watch it. Currently I'm obsessed with everything Carey Mulligan does because she's so lovely.
I did also overdoes a little on Jesse Eisenberg films this week: Zombieland (still brilliant) and then The Squid and the Whale (interesting and a little bit sad) and Some Boys Don't Leave (a really poignant short film about break ups). Also, speaking of short films, has anyone seen that one I'm Here? It's a short film based on The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein (and produced by Absolut Vodka actually but don't hold that against it) which has Andrew Garfield as a dorky robot in it but is also is kind of heart breaking. It's online
here if you're interested.
Anyhoo, I'm off to watch Daleks in Manhattan. A Dr Who and Andrew Garfield fix all in one go? Kind of my idea of a perfect night.
