Freedom actually gets a bit boring after a while.
Here are some of those Interview Me memes I was supposed to do aaaaaaages ago
From
stringless_kite:
1. Boys Like Girls or Motion City Soundtrack?
Hmm. Hard one. At this current moment in time, which is highly liable to change, it's probably Motion City Soundtrack. I love the acoustic version of Fell in Love Without You but my very favourite song by them is still It Had to be You
2. What's your nationality?
I'm an Asian mix- part Filipino, part Chinese- with weird possible nationalities further back down the line. My grandmother was part Arabic for example and my surname is apparently Middle-Eastern. My mum also claims to be Spanish blooded too so.
3. Do you care about your book condition? (eg. Do you prefer Mint condition books or Worn out books?)
I'm not terribly fussed actually. My sister is anal about book condition though so she's always telling me off for cracking spines and dog-eared pages but I've always believed that the sign of a well-loved book is its state of disrepair =)
4. Would you rather have your bestfriend and boyfriend hate each other or have only your boyfriend as your bestfriend?
I think the latter, only because I don't deal well with conflict and I've always fancied the idea of having a guy best friend.
5. Who would you turn gay for?
Haha, Rove just asked Rob Schnider that question on tv! Um, difficult. Maybe a hot celebrity like Anne Hathaway or Kristen Stewart. The people most likely to turn me gay are my RL friends though.
And from
acousticallie1. Streak through a crowd armed with videocams for a million, or skinny dip for half a million. Which would you pick?
I think I'd rather the skinny dipping. That's the one least likely to haunt me later. And half a million bucks is a lot of money anyway. Think of all the books I could buy!
2. You can marry any fictional man. Which one? [FictionPress counts]
Oh man. That's a terrible question because I'm prone to falling in love with most of the fictional characters I read/watch. Possibly one of the leads from Melina Marchetta novels, mainly because they seem so real. Santangelo or Jonah probably. Oh! Or Simon from Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marrillier. Or maybe Dameon from Obernewtyn. Argh. So many choices. I think I'd be happy to remain unmarried and be able to keep falling a little bit in love with all of them *nod nod*
3. Your favourite icon and why.
I like this one
by
gardeniadust at the moment. It's just so pretty...
4. If you could do a sidewalk drawing and have it come into being, what would you draw?
For some reason, the first thing to come to mind is a duck. I don't even know how to explan that weird chain of thought away. But with my drawing skills, I'd be more likely to draw something really simple. Like an apple. Or food of some sort.
5. If your name wasn't Nicole, it would be ____________.
You mean if I could choose? Or if my parents hadn't thought of Nicole. Because if not Nicole, my mother would have picked something "unusual" like Esmerelda or Serenity. If I could choose, it's probably be something boring like Isobelle or Anna.
aaand from
xhollywoodgirlx1. If you had to pick between books and tv/movies, which would it be?
Hmm. Books probably. It's so much easier for the impossible to happen in books.
2. What's your biggest fear?
I don't know. Normal stuff like spiders and heights don't necessarily scare me, that's more an uncomfortable sensation. I've never been in that all-encompassing, paralysing fear that some people have before but I've never been in many life-threatening situations before. Maybe the fear of being paralysed and unable to move in a threatening situation is my biggest fear. Or knowing that I was in danger but not being certain from what. That would be scary.
3. What's your favorite food?
Toss up between pasta and ice cream. Although, I do have a great fondness for any sort of breakfast food.
4. Favorite song at the moment?
At the moment it's Flame Trees by Cold Chisel :)
5. Um... Favorite color? (lame, I know. not entirely awake yet. Sorry!)
Yellow. Nice buttery sunshine yellow. It could change though. I'm like that. But my fall back is always red.
Oh, and she also gave me that meme where I think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ
So here goes (my letter was M)
Michael Scott - The Office
Urgh, I just started watching this series and his character is just. so. painful. I know that's how it's supposed to be but he makes me cringe every two seconds. Whenever he opens his mouth I just want to tell him to close it before he puts his foot in it but alas, the show would not be as funny without his blundering.
Mr Darcy- Pride and Prejudice
Yes, I know that's kind of cheating since hs name actually begins with F but still. Finctional characters->Fictional Men->"ideal" fictional man. My logic makes sense. Kind of. And young!Colin Firth pictures. How could I not?
Molly Weasley- Harry Potter
Um, M is a really hard letter for me to think of. I'll probably be kicking myself later when I think of someone important but oh well. Anyway, Mrs Weasley. "Not my daughter you b*tch!" That's all there is to say about this supermum really.
The Mad Hatter- Alice in Wonderland
I loved this movie as a kid and the Mad Hatter was always my favourite because he was so nonsensical and crazy. I heard Tim Burton is doing an Alice movie That'd be something interesting to see.
Matthew- Obernewtyn
Since there hasn't been a movie or anything I can't really show you a picture, this is actually Justin Whalin from the 2001 version of Dungeons and Dragons but he kind of has the look of my imagined Matthew. Anyway, Matthew was the first Obernewtyn character I really liked and I'm hoping he makes a return in the last book. Oh, just as long as he's not the Destroyer. He's a bit of an idealist with romantic notions which is what drew me to him I think.
So I think that's all I have really. What's going on with everybody? Tell me about some exciting things that are happening to you?
