fly me to the moon

I saw this on some com and I thought with all the avid readers on my friends list that it would be fun to do.

Instructions:
* Grab the nearest book.
* Open the book to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your journal.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

Mine's from The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice which I was reading this morning and is one of my all-time favourite novels. Plus, I found it in a bargain book store for about $2 which was amazing too.

My appreciation of great art was too literal for study. I would even go so far as to say that I could not understand any art unless I was up close to it, until it filled all my senses with its presence. I said this to Christoph once. He called me naive beyond my years, which I said didn't make sense. He said that proved his point entirely.

Feel free to post yours in the comments =) I'd love to know what you're all reading.

Oh! I watched The Sword in the Stone today which is real old-school Disney. I think it was a 1960s movie? My older brother and I sat and watched it for something like the fiftieth time. We had it on VHS (back when those were cool) and I swear, he could recite most of the lines, even though we haven't seen it in years. It was funny. I think the best part was when he got turned into the squirrel :D

And I saw two episodes of this! Woo! It was strange really, but still quite riveting, if only for the fact that the team leaders were called Cat and Doggy. I swear to you, they were a cat and a dog, with tails and ears and everything! I'm pretty sure I always love the original Power Rangers the best though. I've seen three different series of this show now, and they seem to be getting weirder and weirder.
So yeah, today was basically flashback day, thanks to the lovely 7HD on our digital top box. And my need to procrastinate and watch children's television of course. Not that I could resist really. Disney and Power Rangers? My ultimate afternoon anyday =P
