In the beginning was...

a question.

I was asked this question by a student from another faculty while I was studying in the library. He was searching for some people who would like to work in the UK or US during summer and I carelessly told him that I'm a student of English Philology which led to the tricky question. The poor boy has never learned the answer. I defended myself with the fact that I was attacked in the library studying for an exam of Spanish phonetics and that "Can you tell me something about your English?" is not a typical question which would start off the conversation. And of course, I simply couldn't resist finding someone else to blame. Department of English and American Studies. Sure. I think that in the next term or next year (if I ever get there) there are some useful subjects but it is true that I didn't come in contact with normal English during four or five past months. All those Introductions to study of something...

So I decided to use this fact as a reason to create this account which has many great side effects:
- I can use funny icons
- I can use these mood icons or how do you call it... and one of them is a goat which is something I - as post DH fan of Aberforth Dumbledore - really appreciate.
- I can steal the Culture Inventory Monthly idea from
e_danae- I can be a bit more personal as I'm not going to post this address on my blog and the people who I've added as my friends (I hope this in not the final number, but
e_danae and
josika were the only ones I dared to add because I know they visit my Czech blog;-)) are trustworthy.
- I can write all those things which would ruin my image if I'd write them in my blog.
- Although this is in the sake of my English, I'm already in some Spanish communities.

So, that would be enough for a start.
As the original purpose of this LJ is to practice, I'll be very grateful if you correct some big mistakes. Of course, you can correct all my mistakes, but I have no idea where to use "the" and where to use "a" and I put commas where I like them, so I'm not going to pay you for that;-)

And I still don't know how to call this place. Four changes in one day.
(And the subtitle which was here before... I meant I'm not tall, ok?!;-) But I realize that not so many people share my ingenious ideas ;-)).
