oooooh, fashion

I would never characterize myself as restless, but I have a weird desire to constantly multi-task.

For example, I started reading an extensive article about Isabella Blow in NY Mag online. I wanted to listen to some music too, so I put on my Bowie playlist. Reading about Isabella blow made me want to paint my toenails, but I can't do that and read at the same time. It's frustrating! I wish I had three heads and eight arms. I could read, paint my nails, knit, put on eyeliner, and drink my tea at the same time.

I went into the kitchen to take my tofu out of the oven and move my laundry forward and it was exasperating that not only was I unable do both at the same time, but I also couldn't continue to read the article.

It mostly gets like this on lazy days when I have no responsibilities or commitments. I guess it has to do with my contstant need for busyness. During the school year when I go for twelve hours straight, I can revel in the time I have for leisure and can sedately read an article and comfortably leave it for a moment to make a cup of tea or take a walk downtown. But in a summer like this, where my real responsibilities have ceased over a month ago (my pool job is hardly what could be called "responsible"), I am made nervous by down time. So I have these frantic urges to multi-task even my frivolous activities.

Soon school will start and I will consider it a great feat to finish a five page NY Mag article. I suppose I should anjoy this while it lasts.
