crap, i was so absorbed, i almost forgot to post a birthday drabble for renren. as it is, i'm now uh... 8 minutes late. damn. anyway, fluff bombs away!

Summary: Rukia’s present to Renji.
“Yo, Renji!” Rukia called out, her small hand dragging a resistant Ichigo.
Renji turned from an animated conversation he’d been having with Kira and Shuuhei. He’d been busy all morning, and this was the first downtime he’d had. Stupid Kuchiki-taichou, Renji groused. Making me work even on my birthday. “What’s going on?” he said, glancing warily at the grumpy orange-haired boy. Ichigo wasn’t even supposed to be out of school, let alone in Soul Society.
“I don’t know,” grumbled Ichigo, pouting slightly. “Rukia just pulled me out of my house, saying it was important, but she won’t tell me what it is.”
Rukia just beamed at Renji before pulling something out from her pocket. It turned out to be one of those bows with the adhesive you could stick on presents. With a light smack, she attached it to Ichigo’s chest. “Happy birthday, Renji!”
Ichigo flushed a bright red and started sputtering while Renji looked at him speculatively. A wicked grin flashed across Renji’s face, and had Ichigo seen it, he’d have been flash-stepping away as fast as possible. Rukia, however, was watching Renji, and if possible her grin just got wider.
“I don’t think I can open it here,” Renji began, and quick as lightning, his hand grabbed Ichigo’s other wrist. “I guess I’ll just take it with me.”
“Wh-what? What are you guys talking about?”
Renji tried to put on an innocent face, but it only made the warning bells going off in Ichigo’s head sound louder. “You didn’t get me a present, right?”
“No,” he admitted cautiously.
“Then--” Renji hoisted Ichigo up into his arms before the other man could react “-- I guess you’re mine for today. Give my regards to everyone alright?”
The next moment, both men were gone, leaving a grinning Rukia, an astounded Kira, and a chortling Shuuhei.
